Pizzamorg: I thought the exact opposite. Super easy, even by yourself. Just be patient, and use an arc or solar primary. Everything will melt quickly.

If you can two-shot a yellow bar Hobgoblin and five-shot a yellow bar Hydra from the middle cliff with Fatebringer, it cant be that hard.

It was just the final boss really, everything seemed to be able to kill you in two or less hits.

I'm going to do some crucible tonight for a while if anyone wants to jump in. I'm looking forward to trying out the HP.
Good read.

5 pages of Destiny impression goodness

Quote:
New green Weapons were stronger than Year 1 raid gear
End of mission to get new subclass will give you your super at a increased rate to try it out
Actual story telling!
No sparrow in Dreadnaught feels okay, compact action
Exotic (assumed Sleeper Simulent) is in 50 pieces throughout the Dreadnaught
You will fight other races, as well as the taken, on this ship
If I understand correctly you can sacrifice weapons to add upgrade experience to a weapon of the same type. Kind of unclear.
Wider range of gear, looks to allow you to have more choices with appearance
As previously discussed light is just a measure of your power and activities have recommended light levels
Ghosts add stats and light now
Sample Ghost perks, Showed nearby materials, I.e. Spinmetal, And one increased Glimmer from hive
Can now decide which weapon, Primary, Special, Heavy, is shown in public spaces
Will be able to trade in old class specific armor mats for the new general one
For 3 strange coins can buy a item from XUR that boosts exotic drop rate from the next boss you fight!
Strikes now focus more on replay-ability, switching up the enemy compositions and even races strike to strike
AFKers now will be teleported up with he rest of the strike team, like POE is currently
Now 3 strike playlists
Vanguard Legacy is all the strikes from year one
Vanguard Ursa is random heroic strikes that will award Legendary marks and engrams
Vanguard Marmoset Is only TTK strikes
Will be hand crafting Nightfall strike modifiers
Lots of crucible stuff, mostly already covered, Crucible bounties are now "better"
New bounties Class, Fireteam, TOO, Featured playlists, And weekly bounties for big rewards
More raid information coming soon
Then they talk about value

Neat in theory but all that means is that the slacker will now be in your vicinity doing nothing instead of at the beginning.

Everything about The Taken King sounds incredible that it's almost impossible not to get excited, yet I am so damn afraid of getting burned. I luckily wasn't supporting Destiny from the start, so I missed all the disappointment that players found when first popping in the game. I'm scared I'll now experience it with TTK.

Have you tried enabling sound leveling/DRC (aka "Night Mode")? I turn this on all the time when I play at lower volumes. It breaths life back to the atmosphere, especially if you run more than 5 channels and your processor has DSPs. Headphones will still be better for every little detail, but it's more than good enough for me that I prefer it over headphones. I love to drop into the Tower and the Reef and hear all the subtle ambient sounds playing over the speakers when I play at night and the house is quiet.

Always fun having to solo a strike when the two idiots you were paired up with either leave or sit there doing nothing the whole time. It baffles me that people will go into matchmaking and when they find a game, they sit there the whole entire time.

I do run Night Mode but never noticed the little things bease i keep it pretry low(3 sleeping kids). The sounds you mentioned at the Tower and Reef are perfect examples of what I am talking about. I also noticed new sounds during the fly in screen of the strikes.

Sure, this sounds great 'n all, but I know you're not using Bose, so you're always going to be missing out. Especially on LFE and surround sound immersion. I visit Best Buy about twice a week, and I have never heard anything better in their Magnolia section. You should look into it.

Also, the Nightfall this week was a real terror. It took me AT LEAST 30 minutes to solo one. Ugh.

Lifetime K/D of .76. First five matches with Hopscotch Pilgrim, K/D of 2.78 . It's ok I guess; I'd quit grinding for them if I were the rest of you.

That's how I got my first worthy exotic. I had a couple of bozos drop out on me 2/3 of the way through on a ROC Nexus strike when I was a lowly L30 (IIRC) on my first character. I thought about dropping, but I stuck it out and finished it solo and was rewarded with a Hawkmoon.

The movie DSPs on my processor really do help out Night Mode as well. If it isn't active there's significantly less ambient effect. I normally don't use the DSPs at normal/louder listening levels as I feel they drown out the surround field, but at lower volumes they work wonders.

In the last iron banner I only saw that thing once. Think I was killed by it only a handful of times actually.
