It pops up on ebay once in a blue moon. There's a few copies on mercado libre brazil, their local auction site, but you'll probably have to line up someone local to assist.

I wont be able to catch John Carter tonight, but cant wait to read your comments.

Two nights ago watched Toys in the Attic. This was a really neat flick if you like animation. It was stop motion and had some really interesting interpretations of clouds and water among other things. Voice actors included Forrest Whitaker, Joan Cusack, and Cary Elwes (plus main character named Buttercup. Inconceivable!) Could be a hair disturbing for young kids with some of the characters and situations. 3D added depth but no popouts. Recommended if you like quirky.

Last night watched Limbradur Und Die Magie Der Schwerkraft. CGI of little boy a little non pixar but CGI of the universe was pretty darn good. 3D added excellent depth and scale. Story of a robot teaching a boy wizard about Einstein. It is one of the most easily understood explanations of some of Einsteins theories such as General Relativity. Its the type of thing probably shown in science centers. I thought it was really well done and really enjoyed it. So of course, kids hated it and they just want to learn stuff in school only. Morons...

Finally caught uncut Robin Hood and the Ghosts of Sherwood. 3D good in spots but overall thought it was a gawdawful movie. So bad it went past so bad its good to just bad. Acting worse than middle school theater. Will rewatch as I was drifting in and out but so far displeased with the purchase.

Holland Arrived from The Netherlands

I didn't want to jinx myself, but they finally arrived. Mailed on 2/24, arrived today, 3/4. Only in transit for eight days; I'm shocked :

I must have placed 20 orders before it finally went through. Anyways, one for me, the rest for trade. (Yu-Gi-Oh arrived the other day but did not come from The Netherlands. Kicking myself because I forgot I already had it.)

At your convenience, please check the link to message 3737 in the 3-D trading section:

Last night I watched "Second Sight 3D" (Thai horror film on HK Blu-Ray). I quite liked this - I think some of the story was lost in translation but it (broadly) made sense, and the 3D was strong throughout. Pretty terrible CG, though!

If you read his post instead of just looking at the picture, you'll see that he bought the extra copies to trade with:

Watched my first Region B film - Ratatouille. Great movie with good depth in some scenes. Like other Pixar movies the 3D was held back, but I would rate this as one of the better Pixars. The 3D definitely enhanced the movie and I'm glad that I was finally able to see this.

Very happy for you! Ratatouille was also the first thing we watched from Region B. We made it an event for the whole family. Cant go back now even to 4K!

Just watched Jumper.

Will admit it was a little bit disappointing overall. Not terrible by any stretch of the imagination, but disappointing to what it could have been as expressed in the review.

3D started out impressively but except for a certain amount of remaining scenes most objects seemed stationerily placed with little creative imagination. While there was definite depth throughout, an action movie in 3D requires more than just spatial parting (which is fine for a drama). It requires ingenuity which Jumper sorely lacked, even with moving objects - not the case for example with John Carter which might have lacked popouts but put everything else into composition.

The plot gained momentum but then lost it just as quickly.

So would I recommend it? For the 3D collector yes. But thats about it. The plot was too simple.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets was my first region B watch, this and Terminator 2 were what finally pushed me to going region free.

I believe this wasn't made for 3D and was one of those titles later converted along with the likes of I-robot, predator and gamer, IMO I thought it was the weakest of the mentioned titles, but its still one I like to keep in my collection.

I already had gotten Region A versions of both from Taiwan and Korea but Region B versions are probably easier to come by. If I didn't already have them I would definitely want to pick both up.

So for the night's installment of Kids Corner caught El Americano last night via amazon de. Considering the movie is about birds in Mexico, had a part Mexican production team, and some limited dialogue is in Spanish, boggles the mind that this is only available from Germany.

Story is a good vs evil battle to take control of a Mexican bird circus(!) and a quest to enlist a former TV superhero, El Americano. Numerous cliched but still fun cultural references such as luchadores, mariachi, etc. Great voice cast including Edward James Olmos, Cheech, and others. Animation sub Pixar but still good. 3D moderate and well done particularly when a long beaked character is looking forward. A good movie about the importance of family. Recommended and especially so if you enjoyed Coco and Book of Life or have any interest in things south of the (US) border. It felt like a piece of vacation in this cold winter...
