Not disregarding steev210's work, but I do not understand the appeal of having the digital copy, the DVD, the bluray, the 3D covering the original artwork.

Another example is how the Force Awakens often has the episode number done away with. Yet even in the opening crawl it says episode VII.

Lately, it seems to be the trend to recreate what studios have been doing to jack up artwork and that includes trying to set Force Awakens away from the other episodes of the series to act as if this movie could stand alone without the lush history that Lucas provided.

Bluray to me is the defacto physical media in its highest form and yet we get saddled with inferior copies, on artwork no less.

I guess it is to make joe public aware of the options, but when it comes to the shelf, hell I could do without it. Not putting down the no doubt hard work that these individuals do copying theatrical posters etc...

I am off my complaint now, but just a comment on the way things are.

So many talented individuals and I do appreciate their hard work! I too have dabbled with custom artwork and mostly I like mashing album artwork "as is" when transferring high resolution copies to bluray.

In the end, those are the true talents. The original artist that created these iconic masterpieces. Lets face it, we must all bow down to what they were paid to do oh so many years ago. I think some people tend to forget this and it is fast becoming a lost art in favor of this "pop art" bull that we are seeing polluting the box art in the discount bins.

Im the same way.
Some times I'll find a great cover on here and just make the change myself. Especially if I don't have a 3D copy of the film, but someone has it listed on the artwork.
I understand people wanting it, but I agree with you.

Someone recently enquired about my Phantom of the Opera covers and I realised I didn't have them uploaded to my server. I took the opportunity to make some small adjustments and update some of the graphics for which I have better versions available than back in 2012 when these were created.

The covers reflect the specs and contents of the Image release.

Feel free to PM me for copies.

I understand people wanting it, but I agree with you.

The problem is that not all of us have the scaling software, the original source or perhaps even the know how to do it right.

However, unlike what some have accused me of, I don't think anything less of their artistic choices once put in proper perspective.

Still look at above. Nissen drops my jaw most every time and so does so many on here. Matter of fact, as soon as I see the cover art I want to watch the movies again!

Has anyone ever thought about creating new cover art for Wayne's World and its sequel? The art that Paramount created for the double pack is pretty 'meh'. I had the Complete Epic DVD set, but I'd love to have something like that for the BD releases. It had a nice slipbox instead of a slip.
