Hate to say it, but this is one of those years where the old top-2 BCS system would have worked better given Georgia and Michigan ended up the only undefeated teams, and clearly to top-2.

Agreed. Now they’ll both have to play that extra game to get to the championship that could possibly get players injured and affect the outcome.

VERY glad I was wrong about the polls and committee dropping TCU. Turned out their extremely narrow Big-12 title game defeat barely moved the needle and did not result in Bama leapfrogging anyone.
The matchups are: 1. Georgia vs. 4. Ohio St. 2. Michigan vs. 3. TCU Pretty solid, interesting matchups. I agree with these selections 100%. These were the only four teams with 0 or 1 loss and Bama absolutely did not deserve to leapfrog any of them with 2 losses. I think based on strength, Ohio St. could have made a case for #3, ahead of TCU, but the committee likely made these seedings to avert a Michigan-Ohio St. semi-final re-match. Michigan is a 9.5 point favorite over TCU Georgia is a 6.5 point favorite over Ohio St. The Georgia-Ohio St. spread sounds about right, Michigan-TCU sounds a bit wider that I'd have expected. |

Agreed. Colorado has been a trash program for a very long time. They've had a losing record in 14 of the last 16 years, making only 3 bowl games in that span.
I suspect Deion's dream job was FSU, where he once played. After FSU's disastrous 2020 and 2021 seasons, it looked like Norvell was on borrowed time and Deion might get that chance. But FSU had a much better than expected 9-3 season with win over Florida this year, keeping him at that job. Still, there had to be better job offers down the road had he stayed at Jackson State a bit longer. |

So I get why Sooner fans would be happy to see USC lose. Last edited by emac213; 12-04-2022 at 06:47 PM. |

Ohio State!!!
Also, I love that Deion took Colorado job. Still a power 5 conference school. Can’t help what the past has been. If I were in his position I would love the challenge of actually building something rather than taking over something established. |

My Iowa Hawkeyes will be playing in their first ever Music City Bowl vs. Kentucky. Nashville will be fun!
I'm going to perdict that the national title game will be Michigan vs Georgia with the Bulldogs winning it all. Last edited by JDub1; 12-04-2022 at 09:12 PM. |

Just thought I'd stand back and appreciate what Kirby Smart has pulled off at Georgia. During the Mark Richt era at Georgia, that program was consistently very good, and usually considered a national title contender most seasons, but it always ended the same way, with an underperformance, with 2-4 losses each season and never competing for a national title.
Kirby Smart is at the very least not on par on that tier of college coaches with Dabo Swinney, behind only Nick Saban. In 7 seasons at Georgia, Smart is 79-15, 6-2 in postseason games, 2 SEC titles, 2 appearances in the national title game, 1 national title, favored to win their 2nd this season. They will finish ranked in the top-10 for their 6th straight season. |

Coach Prime getting a lot of backlash for leaving Jackson St. I get why some would be mad tho, he sold a dream about HBCU and then left in 3 short years.
I also think it was crazy for people to think he wouldn't jump to the Power 5 when he got the chance. It was reported last year he interviewed for the TCU job. |

I still don't know what to make of Deion Sanders as a head coach. If he can land nationally rated recruits to I-AA Jackson State, I'm sure he can at Colorado. Problem is, it's impossible to tell if he's any good as an in game coach thus far. Jackson State is 23-2 the last two years, but they play a trash schedule (one of the weakest in I-AA), and the school doesn't compete in the I-AA playoffs. Most analysts seem to think they are probably a quarterfinal level team at best if they competed against the best I-AA teams. Deion won't be able to hide behind a weak schedule and strong recruiting classes very long at Colorado. We'll know real fast whether he can actually coach.
