That is what was on the side of the vhs cases. I was trying to recreate that.

I think you did an awesome job recreating the original VHS! And as someone who likes to recreate the original vhs covers I can agree, it can be a very large pain. Sometimes I can't find the artwork just like the original covers (still pics or even posters). Other times I have issues trying to find the exact font to recreate the synopsis on the back or even the cast listings. I worked on my Superman covers for 6 months before I arrived at the finished products.

Hey stardragon9, any chance you could do The Learning Tree in the WB style? I know it's not on Blu-ray but I would love to put my DVD in a Blu-ray case with a nice looking retro cover


Also on your Mask of Phantasm cover, have you considered adding Bill Finger to the created by line with Bob Kane?

I can look into 'The Learning Tree' to see if I can find artwork. Now that I have the template ironed out, it should be no problem. As for the extra credit on Mask of the Phantasm, I was simply going off the credits that were on the poster and vhs release but I can add that on and pm you that version if you would like.

Lots of good artists in this thread; thanks to people like you nearly half of my blu ray collection has custom covers.

I wonder if anywhere in the 1601 pages of this thread someone has created a sweet cover for Barry Lyndon? When I do a search I don't find anything... but that is such a gorgeous movie it deserves someone to give it a gorgeous blu ray cover too.

Blu-ray Collection

This one is a slight alteration of the official art. I removed some useless art, and the Rating logos (took too much place on the back and looked useless to me!) and I added the title for Underworld: Endless War, making it a 6-Disc collection.

I will have an Agents of Shield Season 1 cover (by a different artist than Nissen) done within the next few weeks, I am not sure if I will upload it or any of the TV covers to the Marvel section of my imgur site because these are more of a companion series of covers than an outright continuation on the MCU series that Nissen is doing for me.

I just wanted to let everyone know the status of these in case they are wondering about the TV side of the MCU. If there is enough interest then I might upload them

I've been working on these for a little over a month now, and I'm still working on them, so think of these as prototypes. Now that I own almost all the Studio Ghibli films, I've noticed that they don't really look like they belong together on a shelf. ( Being distributed in North America by 4 different companies Disney, GKIDS, Sentai Filmworks, & Sony ) I was going for a combination of the Disney & GKIDS releases with a little Criterion thrown in for good measure. I've never really attempted something like this before, so constructive criticism is appreciated.
