Why didn't they succumb to the Oracles?
Was the game glitching or something?

I believe you can only succumb if you are in the portal with them. Once you leave and cleanse, you're good to go.

I am reading the GameInformer article about Destiny and thought the bolded part below was interesting. I think the Necromancer Warlock idea would have been awesome. It's also nice to see that they are adding stuff to the gear to boost the power of the supers.

Quote:
Iteration is an important element when trying to add new ways to play with characters that players have used for over a year. For example, when Bungie first started working on the new Warlock ability, they considered turning the class into a kind of necromancer who could resurrect fallen enemies as minions, and then send them after their foes. Bungie eventually settled on the Stormcaller's ability to fire chain lightning, but the team hopes to return to the necromancer idea at some point.

While Bungie has created three subclasses for each character, there is actually a bit of diversity hidden inside each. For example, the Warlock Stormcaller's main super is a chain lightning attack, but Bungie designed some Stormcaller upgrades that allow players to chain together more enemies if they want to create a character with good crowd control. Alternatively, Bungie envisioned another path through the Stormcaller abilities that has them creating fewer chains but dealing more damage. Another character build focuses more on mobility, giving the Stormcaller a short-range blink that allows them to dodge enemies attacks, which might be ideal for PvP. These different paths existed in the original release of Destiny, but Bungie thinks they're even more distinct for The Taken King's new subclasses.

Eat it Ric. Gjallahorn stuck in year 1.

Why are the numbers on the Guardians different?
•We’ve altered the way Light and Level are calculated to enable a more streamlined evolution of your characters
•Leveling up your Guardian is now a product of earning experience in the game
•Increasing your Light is now a product of acquiring and equipping more powerful gear

How will you calculate the new numbers you’ll assign to my Guardians in Year Two?
•We’ll determine your level based on the gear in your inventory and your Vault
•Don’t dismantle your best stuff before you begin your Year Two adventure

What about weapons and my armor? The Attack and Defense ratings are different, too!
•We’ve changed the values of Year One items to provide a unified experience that flows seamlessly into Year Two
•Aside from the weapon tuning in Update 2.0, your Year One weapons will perform in Year One activities as you would expect

How do those Exotic Blueprints work?
•When players discover an Exotic, they will also have discovered the Blueprint for it

What do you mean by a Blueprint?
•It’s a schematic required to craft previously discovered weapons and armor
•Once you have collected a Blueprint for an Exotic, you can “purchase” it anew using the required forms of currency

Blueprints enable us to acquire a copy of the same item?
•Blueprints provide you with a new item that must be upgraded
•The Blueprint stations are not an extension of your Vault – your space there has been doubled for easy access to your favorite upgraded items

Where are my Blueprints stored?
•Blueprints are stored in two collection stations near the Vanguards in the Hall of Guardians
•One for Exotic Weapon Blueprints
•One for Exotic Armor Blueprints

How do I unlock new Blueprints?
•They are archived automatically when you discover a new Exotic

Can I share them between my Guardians?
•Yes: Blueprints for discovered Exotics can be accessed by any character on your account

Which Exotics will be available in Year Two?
•In addition to a bunch of brand new Exotics for you to discover in Year Two, we’re redesigning and redeploying select Exotics from Year One

•For example: No Backup Plans has been redesigned

••We significantly extended the duration of the old perk “Improved Disintegrate”

••Now, Shotgun kills will also trigger Force Barrier when its off of cooldown

••And yes, when triggered via Shotgun, Force Barrier also gets the benefit of the selected perk (Shotgun kills can trigger War Machine)

Did you redesign Gjallarhorn? Gjallarhorn will remain a Year One Exotic at Year One levels

How can I acquire the Year Two Exotics that have evolved from Blueprints I discovered in Year One? Select weapons and armor pieces that have been redesigned for Year Two can be purchased for Legendary Marks, assuming you discovered the original Year One Blueprints

What are Legendary Marks? Legendary Marks will replace Vanguard Marks and Crucible Marks as a new form of unifying currency in the Tower

How can I earn Legendary Marks? By completing Daily Story Chapters, Weekly Heroic Strikes, and Daily PVP Activities By dismantling Year Two Legendary items – assuming you don’t have the maximum value of 200 Legendary Marks associated with your player account

Is there a weekly cap on Legendary Marks? There is no cap to how many Legendary Marks a player can earn in a week The maximum number of Legendary Marks any player account can hold is capped at 200

Can I also share Legendary Marks between my Guardians? Legendary Marks are account-bound like Glimmer and shared across all of your characters

What will happen to my old Vanguard and Crucible Marks from Year One? When The Taken King is released, blocks of fifty Vanguard and Crucible Marks will be converted into one reputation consumable

Now that my nameplate displays my Light and Level, where can I strut my Grimoire score? It will be displayed under your Level when your Guardian is inspected

Are you raising the Glimmer Cap? The Glimmer cap remains as it has been in Year One You’ll have plenty to spend it on in Year Two

Can we have more Vault space? How about if we double it?

That’s a sampling of the questions we’ve detected since our live studio audience dispersed to get back to work. There are some more out there, but some things are best understood on your own inspection of the Tower, its vendors, and their various wares of mayhem and destruction. You’ll have your chance to decrypt it all first-hand in just a matter of weeks.

We hope this walkabout has given you a head start. Tune in next week, because we’re done teaching. It’s time to Strike!

Any Exotic you have in your inventory when Destiny update 2.0.0 goes live, will come with an Exotic Blueprint. No guarantees before that.

Gotdamnit.

Sidebar, I'm now 29 in NM and nothing. I hate this game. Unil 9/15.
Watch. More. Bass/LFE. Heavy. Movies. And. NFL Pre-Season. Until. Sept. 15th.

I just finished recalibrating my subs and managed to squeeze out about 1.5-2 db on the SPL (there's a story behind it that I won't share here). I'm gonna put Iron Man on now and CRANK IT.

I'm on hiatus from this game until TTK comes out. There's really no point in doing anything anymore in the game if you already have everything or close to it (me). Time to finally focus on other games for the next month. And go outside.

First off I don't really mind that Gjallarhorn is getting left behind, but WTF Bungie. What's the logic in nerfing the damn thing right before TTK when it won't even carry on with us? It's going to get over shadowed by all the new stuff so why even nerf the thing? Bungie's logic sometimes man.

Hard Light getting a buff, then not being upgraded in year 2 is just as baffling.

We don't fully know that it won't be coming yet. The only exotic that this point I believe is 100% not going forward in Year 2 is Gjallarhorn. They said not ALL Year 1 exotics will be available right away with more coming later.

I really don't see why they would come later.

I honestly think they will allow the Gjallarhorn to be improved later because you know damn well this community will moan.

Apologies if I missed anything but were did it say the Year one Exotics won't go to the new levels? Yeah they've mentioned that a select few will be redesigned for year 2 but to me redesigning is just the perks being changed around.

***UPDATE***
Nevermind: 'Gjallarhorn will remain a Year One Exotic at Year One levels'

I would like to see it given arc damage and a nice impact bump. I have one fully upgraded, just waiting for buff results before I put an exotic shard into it.

Yeah, I'm back to my 5-6 movies a week schedule, which I havent had since pre-Destiny. I made a receiver switch from my old 2008 Pioneer VSX03 to a 2014 Denon X4000 and its Audyssey calibration did wonders for my subwoofer, considering it's restricted placement.

BAM! A better, more even bass curve across all frequencies. My Epik sits right next to me anyway so I didnt want an SPL increase, just an even report. Bless my Epik sub, going on four years now. I'd be heartbroken if anything happened to it.
