Haha thanks I guess. Some foreign version's have really cool slipcovers, like this Korean Piranha. A couple of my favorites though are Mexican La Isla Calavera (Kong) and Canadian My Bloody Valentine. In US, i like Silent Madness.

I just love edgeless slips.

Just watched resident evil the Final chapter. After the usual action beginnings which could have been used in any of the series entries, the story developed it's own unique plot with multiple twists including the ending.

The 3D had very good depth but at times could not help notice a slight and distracting ghosting. The only flaw in an otherwise enjoyable post conversion. Excellent dts high definition audio.

A shame not released in north america.

Hi JT,

You have a lot from VUDU. Curious, do they still carry approximately the same number of 3D titles offered a few years ago? Or do they drop them after a certain amount of time?

I guess I mean like it less than I do.

At one point they carried over 160 titles. Right now the 3D collection lists 121 titles. However if you run a separate search for Marvel 3D you’ll find most of those titles listed individually outside of the collection. My best get I bought at the time of original release was THE FINEST HOURS which is no longer available for digital purchase. For anyone interested most of the Warner titles have had a significant permanent markdown. The Disney-Marvel titles are on the high end at $34.95.

Resident Evil: Retribution. Enjoyed it, some nice pop outs and good use of depth. The movie is one long action sequence, so it was fun to watch.

This is todays haul on my first day of Staycation...

https://imgur.com/a/qM5q7pA

Last night had a triple feature of Everest, Battle for Terra, and Scorpions Live. Enjoyed them all. Everest is great with good use of 3D. I have a thing about heights, and there was one scene in particular looking down where I involuntarily said to no one in particular "No no NO." It is somewhat of a downer though.

Battle for Terra was so much better in 3D and worth the premium cost paid. When the credits rolled I could not believe the list of well known actors playing nearly every part.

Ive always dug the Scorps and this was a fun movie. They play most of the songs I would have liked to hear. Klaus has lost a tiny bit of range in the vocals, but given hes been at this since 1969 its not too much of an issue. Some fuzziness with the 3D at times and as others have noted, too many quick cuts so you dont get to appreciate the depth/layering. Some really great depth/layering when the director stays with the shot for longer times.

Ordered the following from Surugaya:

Biohazard Damnation, Garo Red Requiem, Kamen Rider, Kaibutsu-kun: the Movie, and to get a shipping discount I Robot. Came to $142 USD but shipping was like $35. The middle three are not English friendly but I figure Ill just deal with it. First time Ive ordered from them. The only other thing they had that Ihavent seen much but ordered elsewhere is 009 Re Cyborg. They have some very expensive premium versions of movies like the uberfancy Blade Runner 2049 package with the replica gun.

Joe you can also look at dddhouse.hk for that disc for $24 minus 10% discount plus reasonable shipping. I didnt click to see the price on the above ebay link...

Hi grazina

Thanks for the link but I was actually able to find a copy for just $30.49 total from movie music HK. I came out better in the deal since $37.89 was the total it cost me from Play Asia. Saved $7.40. Saw it on ebay earlier but total cost with shipping would have been $40. And since through ebay tax might have been added.

What a coincidence - just yesterday I was looking at ordering Biohazard and Garo from Surugaya too but decided shipping was too expensive for just the two movies. I haven't heard of Kamen Rider or Kaibutsu-kun. Will have to do a little more research on those. Let us know how you like them!

Sanctum.

That's my go-to guilty pleasure for 3D. Stunning shots for this cave diving movie. Produced by James Cameron. B-movie script. The 3D impressively makes you feel like you're there. Medium strength at most, but well done. Criminally underrated by 3d bluray reviewers.

This was my last watched 3der Sunday night! Excellent 3d. I thought it was mostly medium, but with several strong shots scattered about. Good movie for a B-script like you said.

Anyway, both the nurse and Julia will give you the willies...
I don't have Julia X which i should to try get my hands while i have a chance, but i do have Nurse (which i saw your video on thoughts in the 3D in that film) in my collection (if you look at my collection) but i haven't watched it in a long time so i hope to watch it again this week.

Anyway i haven't seen you done a 3D blu ray review on that channel in a while, i be interested hear your thoughts on the 3D conversion of Terminator 2: Judgment Day (which is another legacy conversion by Stereo D) in a 3D blu ray review sometime.
