Got my card today. Some quick questions:
When I pick a film time in the app, am I buying the ticket online and then picking it up like a normal pre-purchase credit card deal? Or am I simply telling the MP service that's what I'm going to see and it opens up my card to buy the ticket. So I'd just go to the box office/kiosk and say, "one ticket to such and such"? |

So.....wait a minute.........Does that mean one can *check in* to see Blade Runner but actually purchase a ticket for Geostorm instead? as MP doesn't check to see what movie you actually went to see and just loads the funds?

hmmm that's weird because that is not allowed as well, I have seen at least 4 people thrown out for doing that. now if it is before the movie that is allowed for obvious reasons.

Well it happened during the last 20 minutes of a movie (20-30 minutes before the movie ends is when the bill comes out...and totally brings you out of the story) I did fill out the comment survey and never got a response back.

Yes, I’ve had to do it twice. Most recently Friday night. The app had the 12:05am showing of Geostorm listed under Boo 2! When Boo2!’s last showing was 11:50. I checked into Boo 2, saw Geostorm and nothing bad happened from it.

And that's when you get one of the waiters to stop them from doing it. From the sounds of it, it seems you have only been to one movie there and it happened. Not a good look at what they do, but that's fine. I enjoy it and it's all that matters.

Ok... I guess as long as they don't require you to link your Regal Card to your MP card then it's fine.........but honestly I would be cool with it if MP/Regal gave an ADDITIONAL 1k on top of your Bonus 1k on top of your points acquired from buying the ticket. Sorry I am a point freak. :P

Studio Movie Grill Goodrich Quality Theaters MJR Theaters B&B (Recently added) That accept e-ticketing. You'll see a ticket icon next to the theater name in the listing and possible a chair to indicate reserved seats. You pick your time from home then head to the theater and either print your ticket at a kiosk or if its supported, have them scan the QR code. Otherwise, show up within 100 yeards of the theater, tap the time to check in, use card to pay for ticket. E-tickets are not refundable or exchangable through MoviePass. Once you choose to get an e-ticket that counts as your one movie for the day. With the card, if you check-in, you have the freedom to chat and change your check-in or cancel it. You could. But you have to make sure the movie you want to see instead is the same cost. Which is why MoviePass prefers you chat with them to change movies/times to ensure the proper funds are loaded. |

As I mentioned, I did this myself when It had sold out on my way to theater (had checked Fandango to see tickets were available before I left), and I used the check-in to see Wrath of Khan instead (which is not listed since its a Fathom event, but as those Fathom Classics are cheaper than regular new releases, the Movie Pass funds covered it). |

Exactly. If its the same price why would you want to check in for Blade Runner but purchase a ticket for Geostorm instead? What is the motive behind this?

I think the reason Movie Pass is against it and asks you inform them of a change after check in is they want the data of your movie going habits, and they don't get it correctly if you check in to one movie but see another. |

One of my theaters, Studio Movie Grill has three price tiers: Early - $7.50 Mid - $8.50 Late - $11.50 I'm not referring to your arrival time, I'm referring to the showtimes. I went around 11:00am and my ticket showed $7.50 but when I saw a movie at around 3pm, it was $8.50. The $11.50 was for evening showings. Luckily SMG uses etickets and reserved seats to avoid missing a showing. But if the eticket system is down and I miss the $8.50 window then I have to pay the difference out of pocket for the $11.50 show. Contacting Movie Pass ensures the correct dollar amount is loaded so I don't have to do that. |
