I was looking at the guide on my TV and I passed by FX movie channel and they're playing this and I went to it and the poster at the corner is of the Unrated Edition.

Do itunes or vudu offer download to PC in HD? I have a few things on vudu (but they were from dvd's, not bluray) and I can only download SD.

Meh. I Just flipped on Deadpool in HDX on vudu, it's very bad quality. Would not want to watch Evil Dead like this.

I believe they do, but it's dependent on the film.

Glad I never bought the R-Rated Aussie BD... I thought this was the most uncensored cut, as R18+ is like US NC-17/Unrated in Australia (many titles have Unrated cut splashed across the front of cover, but with an R18+ classification in the corner). https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Evil-Dead-Blu-ray/75829/

I saw ED remake on Aussie cable, which again receives further cuts to get an MA15+ for broadcast, hence why I was wanting to buy the BD.

Will probably never see an Unrated on BD as it seems that studios are pushing us to stream movies, even Sony (creators of BD).

Unless we get an Unrated on BD, I will pass (although I love to see it), as I choose not to stream. In protest.

Is this confirmed to actually be the extended cut that was released digitally a few months ago? I just want to make sure that it's not "unrated" as in previously is was cut more than the R-rated version and now it's uncut in Japan but it's really the R-rated version there (like how Germany calls Scream unrated but it's really the R-rated version for us). Hoping it's the former of course.

Just did a google translate of the product description in Amazon and it seems it is indeed the extended/unrated cut for us since it is 96min, and the R-rated theatrical cut is 91min long.

Woof. With this thread bumped I almost went and bought the iTunes version, I had intended to do it a while ago.

Looks like I'm holding off for now. Hopefully the unrated edition gets released in more territories, I'm dying to see it.
