The 4k disc is Region free and plays in Region A player but the image is not in HDR. It is SDR. Can someone confirm? I have the 4Kult disc.

Thanks to the people of this forum i just received my 4kult release today. I plan on watching it tonight, but i popped it in real quick to make sure everything works. You might wanna check your setup bc im showing Dolby Vision. Perhaps the disc is only dolby vision and ur player doesnt support it?

My player (top end Panasonic) supports Dolby Vision ant I checked set up and it is enabled. The disc is definitely HDR as in SDR mode which is selected with projector set to auto detect. In SDR the picture is washed out. If I select HDR manually, however, the picture is beautiful and in HDR Dolby Vision. The INFO for disc info on the projector, however, inticates the disc is SDR. Strange, this is the only disc I have encountered that does not auto select the Dolby Vision (HDR). It seems to be a coding trigger on disc not recognized by player.

Because it's an Apple TV+ production and they hardly ever license their content for labels to release on disc.

Scorsese has hands. Tim Cook has a face. He should slap the crap outta him until he gives Criterion the license to release it.

Problem solved.

Cook's security detail would make mincemeat of anyone who tried that
