The thing about "digismear" is that it really depends a lot on how bad it is. The Ten Commandments UHD is truly great, but it has some digismear that thankfully doesn't look too bad.

Auto upgrade will only upgrade it if you own HD. SD will stay SD (but will sometimes get DV added to it).

Maybe it's your internet connection because it looks the best I've ever seen this movie look since I originally watched it in theaters. It's definitely in 4K, I'm seeing a lot more detail than I ever seen in the HD release.

Tried No Way Home and it definitely played in 4K, or at least HD. I guess the original blu-ray digital copy was SD only. It’s been checks notes a decade + one year, so I forgot.

Has anyone mentioned that the original 1997 Paramount logo returned, replacing the 2012 100 Years logo from the 3D Reissue?
Just watched a few minutes on iTunes and was surprised. |

I had Titanic in my iTunes library from a digital code and I just tried watching a bit of it and it says it’s in 4k and Dolby Vision kicks on, but it looks DVD quality to me, so I’m thinking I might be streaming SD?
Unlike true 4k movies I have, this one still allows me to buy it in 4k with it in my library. Is this the 1997 logo or…? https://ibb.co/D9V5tS0 |

That’s not true: you only own SD and depending on your settings, it can place a Dolby Vision or HDR layer over it. You either had to have bought the HD version or wait and redeem the new code in the 4K set. The 2012 set came with an SD digital code for iTunes. |

Those of us who redeemed the old 2012 code way back when got SD copies that do not upgrade to 4K. |

I did a quick (it's late) comparison of the HD and 4K versions and the HD version is a tad darker in some spots.
Also, my receiver says "Atmos". Screenshot only for the Info, not image quality. ![]() |
