I think we are taking a minivacation for the amount you spent next month

I only picked up a measly 5 (contempt, repulsion, third man, seventh seal, for all mankind)

Really it wasn't all that bad. I was keeping a running tab in my head (which may or may not be reliable) and I'm pretty sure I fell between $325 - $375.

Yes I could have gone away for a long weekend on that, but that's what 45 hours of entertainment max? 31 films avg 1.5hrs each is 46.5hours, not counting bonus features.

I'm just trying to justify it to myself.

it's amazing, in no way bad at all, but it is amazing how several people can buy so many movies and make so many different choices.

I'd almost be interested to know why you made each decision, what you had already seen etc. because I went crazy trying to make up my mind :P

Just order from Amazon.com, problem solved. Even after the import/exchange it's still a worthwhile savings, especially if you buy multiple titles in one shipment.

I just checked and over the last month I spent well over $300 on Criterion BDs alone. That's not mentioning other amazon sales. All in all, around $1100 was given away in exchange for BD collection extension...

Not really with the exchange rate and the stupid import deposit fee any more. amazon.com is almost never cheaper any more than anything in Canada.

Trust me - I have lots of amazon.com experience.

Are you concerned about his purchase of the standard DVD of "Contempt"? It is out-of-print now according to Criterion's site, but plenty of copies are still in the stores and online. I picked up a copy at my local Barnes & Noble, as well.

I dropped exactly with taxes 1,158.10 lol I posted my list on a prev. page lol It contained box sets etc. It was insane... I was also using 20% off coupons like a mad person with friends in on it with me at about 7 area locations. It was nuts. I am cut off for a LONG time lol

Ha, I was just thing about how much I have spent. I was counting my movies, trying to figure out how many boxes I'll need to package them all for the big move.
I have roughly 725 DVDs, Plus the 135-140 Blus, Not counting PS2 & 3 games.

I figurs I've spent well over $20,000 on media. Of course that's over a 12 yr period, so it's not all that bad. (just keep telling yourself that)

Yeah I know what you mean. I added it up once and think it was likely close to $10,000 in just over 2 years with my collection of around 400. I never got into DVD buying and only started with my Blu-ray player a little over 2 years ago.
