I predict a couple more premium brands of Mini LED TVs for 2021, 4K and 8K in several screen sizes.

If you predict me an 85" MASTER Series Blacklight Master Drive Mini Led Sony with a full hdmi 2.1, I will be the happiest of men.

Edit: You will undoubtedly have understood that it was an 8K tv of course

TV broadcast is an increasingly irrelevant part of the industry.

You ain't kidding! I think they got badly burned by the rush to get into 3D and so they've been glacially slow at rolling out 4K, while streaming platforms insist on minimum 4K (end to end) productions with Dolby Vision etc. And there's always been the other factor when it comes to TV bandwidth, that no matter how much room they manage to create the content providers will ALWAYS want to squeeze in more channels at lower quality rather than have less channels at high quality.

It's not even about the quality at this point. Convenience trumps all. Streaming is well on its way to killing off both physical media and traditional broadcast.

HDMI 2.1 Explained with an LG NanoCell Big TV - How a New TV Can Improve Gaming

With the arrival of PS5 and Xbox Series X, now's a good time to upgrade your TV. In this video, Rich describes the two key technologies in today's TV market - OLED and LCD - and the advantages and disadvantages of both. Also: how bigger is better in the living room, plus all of the key technologies delivered by HDMI 2.1 - 4K 120Hz, ALLM and perhaps the most crucial of all - VRR, variable refresh rate. Oh, and how about 8K? Yes, we look at that too, powered by the Asus ROG Strix RTX 3090.

Agree for the most part. Sports are keeping traditional broadcasts alive. Biggest reason for people not to cut cable is watching sports. I also think it is what is holding 4k back. Live sports in 4k would really drive the format.

Streaming is quickly killing physical media. As you said, convenience will win over quality by the vast majority of people.

Just to let you know, The World Series was broadcast in 4K on my xfinity. For example, FOX is 609 (HD). If you hit Guide, click on sports, navigate or speak in remote, if the game is available in 4K, you can view it in 4K. Every week, college football and pro football games are available in 4k on xfinity. Fox and NBC have had the most.

I have xfinity internet, dumped the cable. Do you need the box for this? Last time I checked (year ago), their boxes were not 4k. I got tired of rental equipment fees, hd fees, local broadcast fees, I am xfinity fees. It added $30 to whatever the "deal" was and locked you in for 2 years.

I saw an ad for one Samsung 4k game of the week. Don't have a Samsung.

How is a game in 4k. Watching sports is what blew me away and got me into must having HD.
