I'm watching the Wyoming vs Washington State game. The Cowboys are 2-9... Cougars are 8-3. Wyoming just scored at TD with :30 seconds left in the game to go up 15-14.

Year after year, that guy does JUST enough to not get fired. That being said, Ohio St. will still be in the CFP field, despite that ugly loss.

Looks like Travis Hunter is now as close to a lock as it gets for the Heisman after his latest performance - 3 TD's on offense, dominant defensively, with another pick. No QB's this year have been all that dominant, so I suppose his main competitor is the Boise RB. Can't see that guy getting it over Hunter though. Hunter just keeps getting better on both sides of the ball, though I do expect he'll play CB in the NFL as he has a higher ceiling there.

I really hate these massive conferences. Now you have conferences like the Big Ten with 18 team, so teams barely play half of the conference and can get some incredibly lucky draws some years and who makes the conference title game in very convoluted.

Then you have the glut of teams not in the SEC or Big Ten, who skate through the season playing next to nobody of note. Teams like Boise, SMU, and a couple others have a good chance of making the field by beating 0 or 1 ranked opponent all year.

It seemed like every rivalry game had a fight after this year. What was up with every visiting team trying to plant a flag? I don't recall that happening last season.

I was at the Iowa/Nebraska game Friday night, the Nebraska coach walked right through Iowa's side of the field as they were doing pregame drills and then during the coin flip, Husker players refused to shake the Iowa captains hands. Poor sportmanship all over college football this weekend.

It seems like the Minnesota/Wisconsin game was the only one that didn't have fights.

The conference title game matchups make it all too obvious how the conferences are as unbalances as they've ever been.

Big Ten Title Game - #1 vs. #3 ranked teams nationally
SEC Title Game - #2 vs. #5 ranked teams nationally

The one top-5 ranked team nationally not in one of those conf title games is Notre Dame, which isn't in a conference.

All other conference title games combined only features a grand total of one top 10 ranked team.

Usually I rag on Notre Dame as being ranked higher than they should be, which is true most seasons. That being said, where they're ranked at the moment is fair. They are 11-1, their strength of schedule isn't awful (31st of 134 teams), avg margin of history is 26 points, and their SRS is #1 in the nation. Main knock is their one loss was ugly (a bad Northern Illinois team) and almost no top 25 opponents (only Army currently ranked). Definitely don't think they'll win the national title, but I can see them being given a first round bye.
