I enjoyed it too. I cant figure out why so many people said it was weak.

The Fighter - Phenomenal film. The best film that I saw so far from 2010! The whole cast was superb and I mean everyone. Whoever was nominated for a "best" award deserved the nomination. I will say although Melissa Leo was excellent I wouldve gave best supporting actress to Amy Adams but a nudge. Damn was she a beast! I can go on and on but this was just a great film and I cant wait to see it again. The film felt so real like u were actually watching a documentary of that family. I have no negatives about this film and it comes with a very high recommendation.

Film Rating - 5 stars (out of 5)

Got Em!!
I agree. But I thought Leo was better than Adams.

Hanna

I've generally loved Joe Wright's prior work, though I'm not a fan of The Soloist. I was interested in seeing what he could do with an action film. There was one scene where he adapted his typical "walk and talk" style into a "run and fight" scene, which I enjoyed
[Show spoiler]this was the ship container sequence
. There were a couple of other interesting action scenes
[Show spoiler]Hanna's breakout, and Heller's subway 4 on 1
, but the rest were marred by shaky cam or were just plain uninteresting
[Show spoiler] Heller's last stand in particular.
The acting was good, but the whole story seemed to be at the development stage, this didn't seem like a finalized script to me. 3/5

It's like The Fifth Element without any of the fun.

I'm not a fan of the film, I like what's good about it (usually the action scenes) but I just found it's characters very lame, I found the character Dillinger a bit too clean and sympathetic for a bank robber, because he's the main character, therefore must be nice, and the police by unsympathetic and one note morons most the time. It felt very cliche to me

This is a rental and it could grow on u.

Film Rating - 3 1/2 stars (out of 5)
I agree on you here, you know exactly what you're getting into!

I liked the film, but found it the weakest out of the 7 best pic nods I watched, but that's plaining because I hate Amy Adams character (not her acting, before you jump on me) I found her downright irritating.

Christian Bale was excellent

I think I just found it hard to get behind just because it was an acting move, a movie to show off acting instead of a really good story to get behind, but I think that's just me I gave it an 8/10

Default Mission Impossible 3

Mission Impossible 3

USA 2006
With Tom Cruise, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ving Rhames
Format: Blu-ray

A bit of background first I was recommended to watch this one after I mention some weeks ago how I had never seen it after my dislike of the second movie. So let me beging be saying, thanks to those who said I should, it is a much better movie then the second one. As a action movie it's pretty well done. My main problem with this series is that they call it Mission Impossible and really they are not. The first one came pretty close to re-create the feeling of the television series but they could be call almost anything else and it would be alright as well. They are more action series then being a series about pulling off some impossible tasks. I did enjoyed the first one, it was pretty good but the second was just plain stupid and silly. This third one was at least fun and does what it does well. I just wish they would call these movie anything but Mission Impossible but that is my own problem. At least the action in this thrid one was a bit more down to Earth and there wasn't too many moments that make you go "oh come on now " like the second one did.

Overall, still not a huge fan of these movies but I am glad I saw this third one, it really was a good movie.

Yea there wasnt a whole lot of character development in PE but it still worked for me. As for The Fighter, tru the acting was better than the story but it made the story that more interesting due to how real it felt and well it was depicted. Thats funny u hated Amy's character. I loved her. Got Em!!

I have to see my The Commandement Blu-ray this weekend, it's now or never (well until next Easter)

Anything else you guys are planning to see this weekend or leading up to it?

I will see Jesus Of Nazareth (spread over some nights) and probably Jesus Christ Superstars. These three are a tradition of mine for Easter.

Well then, I am all set and ready to go.

I wish SONY would release the Charlies Angels sequel. SONY is really weird about sequels.

Chicken Little, because Easter has something to do with Chickens

Or you could be really awkward and go for the complete contrapuntal with The Descent

Pixies are always great. Top 3 for me. They played all of Doolittle and were awesome as usual. No side effects that I am aware of...

I liked the setup and much of the movie, but a few things made me lower my score. The music during fight scenes made it seem like a comic book and unreal. The villains were too over the top to be taken seriously. So I'm not sure what the movie even was.

I may watch Public Enemies today...not sure though. Thursday night at the latest.

I also have Sherlock Holmes and Robin Hood to revisit.

The A-Team was pretty good for what it was trying to be I thought, big ridiculous fun. It doesn't want its audience to take it seriously, so I didn't and I had a blast

The movie was pretty accurate to history (with exceptions obviously); people did like Dillinger so him being portrayed as likable is correct

I thought Public Enemies was weak considering who was involved and the potential of the story. I don't need to ever watch it again.

I'll happily trade my copy (watched once) with slip if anyone craves it.

I always found it to be cramming his likability down the audiences throat though, instead of it feeling natural, but it's been a good 2 years since I saw it

Do your friends own you? Do they have chains and ropes tied to you and do they have that "eyes will be open the whole time" helmet thing from A Clockwork Orange? You make it seem like you must watch Scream 4 because they're going to see it.

Tell them to F off until you've seen the first 3!
