Thanks man. I was just curious. I could always email Energy but being that its 10+ years old it's unlikely they have info on pre-merge stuff.

I'm going to see what it will add to my room regardless.

It replaced my Mini-Center, which although not optimal to go with my C-500's it did the job superbly and for a small speaker was able to handle dialogue and complete my front soundstage without any issue.

However... this RC-LCR is something else ! I immediately hooked it up ran my YPAO on my receiver, and stuck in a series of CD's to start warming her up... Even at first listen, I could heard the increased dynamics of the speaker over what I had... by Sunday evening, after some 40-50 hours of breaking in, I went to pick in on the progress and was blown away the improvement. The sound filled the room, dialogue on the CD was detailed and clear (concert CD)...

I wanted to through in a good tester movie to give it a listen, but wanted to hold off until I have put a good 100 hours or so on it... Instead, I put in a dialogue-heavy film, It's Complicated. The LCR sounds fantastic, it is a large room 15' wide and 20' long, with a seated position of 14' feet away from the screen. It easily filled the space, and I had it at my reference volume and did not have to turn it up, which I had to do with dialogue-heavy movies with my Mini-Center.

I am babbling away when all I really wanted to say was WOW. Best $200 I have spent to date on my HT. By and Far!

Matt
Congrats on the LCR Matt. I'm about 50 hours into the break in on my RC-10's I just rec'd last week and I'm absolutely amazed at what I've heard so for. The detail and sound quality on these Energy's or fantastic. I'm hearing instruments I've never heard before. The longer I play them the better they are sounding, and the bass these little speakers are putting out is amazing.
I will eventually get and LCR to replace my current Infinity center. I was considering the RC mini, but after your comments I figure I better wait for the LCR.
Thanks for the comments,

Mike

Ah, yes BigAl, they sound great. I'm so impressed with how big these small speakers sound. Music is a dream through them, but movies sound great too. While watching movies I've been leaving my sub off, and really surprised how low they can reach. Just trying to get through that break in period. About half way there now. For the price you can't beat em...

You should be fine, go ahead and open them up, I wouldn't be to worried about volume control or constraint at this point.

Maybe you can start checking Ebay for the LCR now.

Yea, maybe in a few months, I'm not ready at the moment anyway. Besides, the job situation is still up in the air. All depends on when if they open up drilling offshore again. I'm ok for a couple of months, but if they don't start drilling again soon I may be out of work for a while.

OK, Callas, I won't worry about it then. Quite honestly, I don't really turn them up much higher than I already have them. It doesn't take much to fill that small room with sound.

Yea, but you left out the part about cranking them up while she's not home to hear it. She kept closing the door to the room where they were playing so she couldn't hear them. Poor thing is tone deaf, so she can't appreciate things like that. My dad is the same way. I can't imagine hearing everything like it's coming out of an AM radio.

You'll enjoy them. I sure love my RC's. Just have a little over 50 hrs on them, and they sound so good.

OK Callas, I cranked them bad boys up a little bit for a short time. Didn't want to get into a with the wife. They sound wonderful and so clear. You were right about them telling the truth. I was playing some Bread, Greatest hits on them earlier and you can tell the difference between each track. Some sound so much better than others.
I cranked up some Al Jarreau live music on them a little while ago and man, you can hear every instrument so distinctly.

see there you go..... Just wait until the wife has to go to the store.... then you can really turn them up.....

If you hide the Toilet Paper, and say Honey we're outta toilet paper..... trust me they will go to the store.... they have to have it.

Hopefully you don't shop at Costco. Cause then you never run outta toilet paper... so you'll have to find a new item to use...

She takes care of shopping on her lunch hr during the week. But that's ok. I have a couple of mandatory vacation days coming Friday and Monday. I'll be home all alone, so I'll be watching movies and giving them a good workout then.

So if I had a chance to get the Energy Veritas V2.3i or the Energy RC-70 for the same price, I should go with the Veritas? Right now have a pair of RC-10s but I plan on moving them back for surround sound.

Man, I wish I had that decision!! LOL.

The Veritas are very nice. If you have existing RC speakers though, I'd be more inclined to go with the RC-70s'. Not that the Veritas and RC-10's won't blend well or anything. I would prefer to have them all be from the same line. But that's just me.
