Well, that's your mistake right there; you're supposed to use the apps on your Sony TV.

What streaming apps do you guys all use? What one gives you the highest bitrate and the best audio options? I personally really like VUDU just because it is available on every device I own. The picture and audio quality isn't as good as watching a Blu-ray but it's watchable.

There is a thread in the digital movies section that breaks it down. iTunes and Movies Anywhere have the highest bitrate.

Sorry, you're right there are many levels of Quality depending on your setup and equipment. You being a Professional Calibrator and your equipment puts you at a different level than some of us. That's why I said to me Amazon Prime looks good. We all have our opinions and levels of Quality depending on setup, equipment, and knowledge.

Disney censoring more stuff apparently. This time Splash. Wow, they really are the pits. They mustn’t want kids growing up believing woman have bums. It’s just weird, Disney are going to turn that service into a cluster**** more suited to airplane flights than home entertainment.

Film makers need to do something about this before Disney owns the entire ecosystem. As streaming gains even more popularity, disc may well be the last example of unedited work and that should send a shudder down every film fanatics being.

That's so minor you would only notice if that all you intended to look for.

You want to zoom on that buy the physical media, with streaming you got to accept what they offer.

You are missing the point. Today, a bare ass, tomorrow? Once you go down that path, there really is no stopping.

What are Disney scared of here? Kids seeing a woman’s ass? There is something disturbing about all of this, I’m sure children realise women have bums.
At the moment, we have disc as an option. When we don’t, we are at the mercy of this shit. While scenes can and will be altered to suit certain agendas.

Online they were suggestive that a film of this type could have been moved to Hulu which is not family friendly focused. Still they haven't touched the Simpsons which has lots of examples. A quick way to improved the service is add some parental controls.

So is this a case of people complaining about streaming now versus physical media?

Not me, I’m Disc until I die. I’m just pointing out the harm in subscription services and digital in general.

If you mean people in general, I guess so.

Agendas? I guarantee you more people want this type of censorship for Disney+ since it’s basically a baby sitter for many parents. No one should be surprised that a service designed for kids and family might edit questionable material. If Splash came out today it wouldn’t show nearly as much skin as the 80s version

Reviewing this site I can clearly see why they modified several scenes. They are the owners, I can't say anyone I know is that big a "splash" fan that they would whine about the editing. Many places online to rent or license it.

On the last part, yes what was shot and issued on DVD is not as obvious as on BD/HD. So like the state of liberty scenes, its very obvious.

It’s going too far. This stuff is already PG or PG13, it’s not Disney’s job to parent, it’s the parents. If our young generation are going to be affected by the sight of a woman’s ass, we have more to worry about than a virus.
If a film DOES contain questionable material, put two versions out, one for kids and one for family. It wouldn’t be too difficult.
They also have Hulu, if they are going to have a shit fit about this stuff, that’s the obvious solution.
Bastardisation of film is not the answer, but your laid back attitude is part of the problem, not the solution.

The film is not the point, it’s the ramifications. Disney own most of the output now.

As long as Disney is putting so much of their content online for a very low monthly price, who in the hell cares. This is nothing more than attention seeking by a few on twitter. Go buy the media if your bothered is what Disney would likely tell anyone that wants the original version.

I care, I care deeply. Do you not want future gens to have access to complete works?

We have disc now, we won’t always have disc.

That last line is what one would use to describe a series of a particular authors books not a individual film. Your stretching to find a cause, nothing about offering a little less nudity bothers anyone except for a sex in the cinema fanatic who badly misses a few frames of enjoyment. Solution buy the media.

There is zero stretching. All film should not be censored. That’s it, plain and simple. Today’s reasons for censoring might not necessarily be tomorrow’s.

Again, you are missing the point entirely. It’s not just about bare flesh, it’s about wording, expression, tone, suggestion etc..

If you are fine with this, I don’t know what to tell you except we have nothing more to discuss.

The fact that many subscribers are expressing their displeasure with this is a bright spark in a dark dark tunnel.
