People are longing for something that was considered to be lost to be saved again that anything resembling the old stuff is gold. Jurassic World proved that. I'll be watching again of Friday and see if it gets any better (doubtful).
It's probably going to be the film that some who didn't like Episodes 1-3 wanted - a rehash/greatest hits of Episodes 4-6 movie.

This movie will gross more than Avatar.
The Hype Awakens.

I just hope it will be better than the Prequels. Not expecting a masterpiece anyway.

For that, ask George... Miller.

I don't think I'm as excited to see this anymore.

1. I remembered that J.J. Abrams was directing this and I haven't particularly liked any of his work.

2. I'm currently rewatching the prequel trilogy (rewatched the original trilogy earlier this week) and I'm just now realizing how ****ing terrible they are.

3. There's a tendency to put out mediocre products when capitalizing on a massive franchise.

4. It seems a little weird that
[Show spoiler]a main character is going to be killed off so early in the new trilogy.

So Terminated is a Jedi while you are the midichlorians that reside in his body?

Sorry, couldn't resist...

In regards to 4
[Show spoiler] that's literally what both trilogies have done so far. The prequels kill Qui-Gon (And Maul) while the OT killed Obi-wan. It's a part of the heroes journey. It's myth making at its purest, so there's no reason to think someone wouldn't have died.

1. I loved this film, but if you don't like Abrams' stuff, you probably won't like this. Even though I consider this one of the best SW films, it has Abrams' style all over it.

2. I, too, thought that the PT was terrible, for the most part.

3. If this is the case, all the time, I'm oblivious. I can think of a number of "massive franchises" that seemed to put out consistently good products (imho).

4. If this happened, I personally can't discuss it until Friday morning at 12:01, but if it did, I'm sure a certain context would make it excusable.

That
[Show spoiler] death and the ending scene have been the worst kept secret like I remember reading it right after the first teaser was released.

Formula for SW trilogies (believe at your own leisure)

Film 1 - set the stage, beloved mentor dies, heroes win a decisive victory

Film 2 - villains regroup, heroes are beaten back

Film 3 - this is where the PT and the OT differ. In the PT the heroes lose the war and in the OT they win the war. Assuming this is the first of two new trilogies, one would assume the heroes lose the war due to a new threat that appears at the end of the third film.

yep. It's an age old formula and Lucas films borrowed from various parts of world history too.

That really depends on who you consider the villain of the PT. "from my point of view, the Jedi are evil!"
