But make sure you guys are doing the nightfall first. That way you get more rep towards the gunsmith when testing the new weapons. I got my Suros emblem and shader right after I updated to 2.0 yesterday. |

Somewhat important issue/bug with 2.0
For those who have already completed their subclass specific quests, you most likely haven't received your subclass specific emblem. More details from this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheG...l_miss_out_on/ I personally never received my sunsinger, voidwalker, defender, and striker emblems. I haven't started my 2 Hunter subclass quests yet. They say if you start these quests on the 15th or after, then you'll receive your subclass specific emblems. I did end up getting all my subclass specific armor though. (Level 40 warlock bond and Titan mark) Worst part is, Bungie has acknowledged the issue and won't retroactively grant rewards. |

Yep...with the NF bonus, I completed all of today's Gunsmith weapons and I am over rank 1 with him now. I rather enjoyed the new look / sound of these weapons, despite the fact that the Monte Carlo "frame" is used for the actual design in some of them. I'm not too shabby in PVP, but completing the PVP sniper rifle test was tough for me since I rarely use sniper rifles anyway. But, it was still fun to do.
Like Dodger and many others, I also received the Suros emblem & Shader, as well as all 3 exotic class items, class shaders and class dances from pre-ordering the Digital Collector's edition for TTK. Once TTK actually hits, we should all receive the Year One VIP package (Sparrow, Shader, Emblem) as well. Those of us who got the Collector's Edition will also get the Suros weapons pack. Overall, it has been a positive experience for me so far. I'd say about 80% positive with 20% negative for things that really bug me. I'll list some of my "gripes" below, and see how you guys feel about them. The "Fire Team" bounties. I understand Bungie's desire to encourage us to play together, and I would be first in line to tell people that this game is much more fun with a handful of friends. However, this is essentially an indirect "punishment" or penalty, if you will, for people who prefer to fly solo or people who work odd hours and don't get to play with their friends often. Being forced to go outside the actual game to find people on LFG to complete bounties (!) with is a pretty shitty way to get your rep up after all this time of being able to truck away at them by yourself, or with others if you chose to do so. Gunsmith weapon tests & rep. Now, I personally don't mind PVP. However, I do mind (once again) being forced to play a side of Destiny I don't prefer over the other side of Destiny. As Dodger mentioned above, he doesn't like PVP, so he'll be 2 weapon completions behind every time the Gunsmith resets. Whether or not this bothers him, I don't know, but it would bother me. Going by the threads on Reddit and Bungie's forums I know for a fact that it bothers many other players as well. I never understood Bungie's incessant need to force people to do something they don't want to do, for whatever reason said people may have. We all play our games for fun, and banging your head into PVP for the sake of getting some rep toward a weapon you'll only use in PVE just sucks, no matter how you look at it. It's unnecessary and players should have the option to complete these things outside of PVP, so they don't lag behind and can still enjoy the new shit at the same time as everyone else. Class items. I really enjoyed being able to swap out my cloaks, bonds and marks in accordance with my armor and shader choices. Unfortunately, Destiny never allowed us many options in the way our characters look, but with the addition of the "Light" stat to class items, they (once again) took away our choice to wear this cloak, or that one, or this one here. I re-rolled a hunter just so I could use the level 1 scarf and level 2-5 cloaks on my first hunter because they look cool and allowed me to change her flavor every now and then. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible due to our Light level dropping significantly with the majority of our favorite class items. It's even more aggravating now, after they reworked the way shaders apply to exotic armor and made them all look much better than they did before. Why they chose to do this is beyond me, and they're actually receiving a whole lot of fire over this. Let's hope they'll eventually see the error of this decision, and they'll either reverse it or finally give us the option to transmog our gear. Speaking of transmog... What is truly baffling to me is the fact that Activision owns Bungie as well as Blizzard. Blizzard made World of Warcraft, and when Transmogrification was brought to that game back in 2011, players were ecstatic. This feature alone was a breath of new life for the old content that had long been forgotten, for we were given a real reason able to go back into the old raids to try our luck at killing those bosses to find that piece of gear we loved (but hadn't been able to wear for years due to it's stats being obsolete) to "transmog" our current level gear into looking like the old stuff, or anything we wanted it to be. It brought a sense of individuality, character and even "style" to the game, after everyone looked the same for so long. TL;DR - Destiny 2.0 is mostly excellent, with a few issues I wish we didn't have to deal with, but we'll be just fine if it doesn't change. |

The Class items armor rating is just plain stupid the way it's set up. I'll add one more of my own gripes: Using blue for armor that is better than purple or gold is a strange choice. I've already dismantled a couple of blue items that i thought were just rare, but weren't. |

My style of play was just MADE for rift. I. LOVE. RIFT. All the jumping and running I could ever want. Eao Jordans + max agility build + MIDA and I'm almost the Barry Sanders guardian.
![]() I do have to learn to wait for my blockers, though, sometimes I outrun my offensive line. First time I also saw the Mercy Rule enacted in that game too, must've taken less than 5 minutes. |

Seems like a very fair analysis. I have two complaints that are major to me but others probably couldn't care less about. The shotguns in PvP are as bad as ever and amplified by the tight new maps. That is huge to me as I hated it before and the new maps only magnified the issue.
Two, the subclass quests annoy me. (And this is a me issue) after the five hundred hours of grinding I've already done, do I really need to be sent on a quest to throw grenades at things and use my super? With respect to my second point. The grind of this game really got to me in the last month or so and as soon as I look at the first minutes of the new DLC, all I can see are quests asking me to grind some more. Maybe this style of game just isn't my cup of tea. This is really the first grindfest-type game I've ever sunk this kind of time in to. (Again, probably more of a me issue than a Destiny issue) |

It's not for everyone, that's for sure. I remember spending countless hours running in small circles during Final fantasy games looking for fights, I am not stranger to the grind, lol. I think there is a sense of accomplishment SOMETIMES, as long as it isn't too crazy, then I just cheese it and move on to the next one. ![]() I am not real excited about leveling up the same exotic for the 3rd time, it feels like a step back to TDB.... |
