They often make mistakes and I always check my CC statement when shopping with FS involving a price change.

You must've lucked out with a daft employee because FS will never PM a different product. It's an FS exclusive - if someone missed that, that's obviously highly YMMV.

Nope done it millions of times. Never had issue, hell I've even done it one times I had bought 40-50 of one steel.

I tried doing this at Best Buy with their very overpriced Halo Steelbook and that didn't work. And I remember trying it with the Dark Knight Steelbook back in the day and it didn't work either. It's not a guaranteed thing - it's YMMV. As I said, you've just lucked out with some careless/stupid employees.

Looks like it might be because of where you are. Here in Toronto, the employees are aware. I could not even price match the Alice in Wonderland Futureshop exclusive to the HMV one.
They told me it is a different product.

Considering this is a mediocre film, I say there will be a stock for 2-7 days at most stores, depending on the location, that is of course, unless someone raids a store. Most stores I think have 50-80 copies of the bigger releases like this one.

I did 50 once too and didn't cleaned out Quebec City, I cleaned one store though and I'm still remembered for that. The manager keep a close eye on me when I'm there a day that a steelbook is being released.

Honestly, even if you were doing this to help members here, if I were the store manager and was made aware, I would not allow this. What's the point of having a FS Canada-exclusive if the Canadians who go to your store can't get one. You probably wasted the time of tons of people who made the trip out there only to return empty handed or have to drive to another store to find it. I think it's beyond lame, and if I was a person frequenting that store I would not have appreciated it one bit. And for your information, the stores not only care about selling all their stock, it helps them to sell 50 items to 50 different people than it does to sell 50 items to 1 person. Any one who knows a thing about retail would agree with that.

I am gonna get like 10 copies for my group buy and I'm dreading buying that much from one store to be honest. I have never bought that much from a single store in one go - ever. 50 I wouldn't do no matter what.

While I can see your point of view, I don't think Future Shop would mind so much if there weren't complaints.

I mean Canada is still a free market and you are allowed to buy as many as you want to pay for. Future Shop would be happy to sell you as many as you want. They just do not want to handle the complaints.

I guess what I'm saying is that if it was for something that no one ended up wanting, or that maybe only one or two people ended up complaining about not getting one, I don't think anyone would be too unhappy about it.

Future Shop would be equally unhappy if that store was left sitting on 49 unsold copies.

Tiger, everything was relatively calm here until you posted that picture (every few months) and brought up another storm.
