Just saw Bloodlines earlier this morning, i thought it was great. The deaths were made to be in 3D, so much stuff would be flying off of the screen especially on the angle they chose to film it. It is really too bad we didn't get this on 3D.

What BLMN said. There’s a dozen shots that are so clearly composed as 3D popouts, they may make you flinch even in 2D.

The directors have said they stuffed Bloodlines with as many homages to past Final Destination films as possible. Coffins for FD3, Tree logs for FD2, etc. It’s highly likely they were homaging the 3D language of FD4 and FD5 with these 3D-in-2D shots. Whether the film was intended to be screened in 3D as well is up to speculation, though others in this thread have heard that a quickie 3D conversion was considered after the trailer broke viewcount records.

Either way, it’s nice to see the FD series’ 3D films honored alongside their 2D colleagues. It’s a bigger tip of the hat than Jackass Forever gave Jackass 3D.

I think there should be a law when you start making a franchise in 3D you have to carry on that way...
