Does anyone know what version of this film is included with the Entertainment One UK double pack? Is it unique? Uncut? Did they recycle the momentum UK release?
I can't seem to find any proper information as this company never put the first movie out standalone. |

It's exactly the same versions, complete with the same utterly awful banding that plagued the first film's initial blu-ray release.

I believe so, the US Steelbook version of the first movie is also region B compatible (the Pop art Steelbook). I assume the standard amaray US version is too as it’s probably the same disc but as I have the US Steelbook that’s the only one I can confirm.

I mean, the film was shot on a potato so it's never going to look conventionally pretty, or even mediocre, but to me there's still a difference between the quality of the source and the quality of the encoding, if the latter is poor it shouldn't be dismissed just because the former isn't great either. The banding on the UK Blu is outrageously bad, I got it for free (I reviewed it back while I was still writing for the digital fix) and yet I still ordered the Sony as soon as I possibly could. Far better encode IMO.

I'd prefer that people temper their expectations.
If they're going to buy the US release thinking it's going to iron out the numerous visual compromises that this film has, by virtue of not being encoded by Miky Dolenz and chums, they're going to be disappointed. And I own the Sony disc. |

Well, yeah, hence the 'shot on a potato' routine above. But if anyone's even remotely sensitive to banding - though I admit that most people won't have a clue what we're talking about

It's not good enough by half. I knew the film was rough after seeing it in the cinema, but Momentum fed the thing through a woodchipper before spitting it onto disc.
