I desperately need to try and find time to update my Blu collection both on this site and on DVD profiler as well, havent done it in about a year or more I reckon.
Probably double the count on Blu's now...

Thinking about ordering the Prometheus to Alien: The Evolution Box Set from Amazon UK. I don't have any of the Alien movies on Blu-ray yet so I think it's worth it, opinions?

Aliens boxsets are always worth it, mind you I'm a bit biased already having 3 different Blu ray sets and 1 DVD set, plus I have already ordered the one u are considering works out to be 47.32 pound including postage a bit more than I wanted to pay would have preferred around 35pound

I'm still waiting on a package from Amazon US and a package from Amazon UK... Delivery estimate for my UK one is tomorrow, but my US estimate isn't until 24/10 (it shipped Sept 9!).

I've actually just found out that I'm moving house and I will definitely be gone by then so I'm a little worried. Usually I just change my address with everything, but I might have to use that Aus post redirection service. I know it works for letters, but will it work for Amazon packages too? Has anyone had any experience with the efficiency of this service?

Yeah I'm going to order it tonight i think, it's £52 though isn't it, or does it drop £5 or so when they drop the VAT?

I figure that price wise it's pretty good considering what I'd pay for the Alien set here and then again for Prometheus 3D.

Wow, Blue! Are you making a hobby out of collecting the sets themselves?

Yeah I guess, i love anything Aliens, always have. It's my favourite movie franchise, i even like the often not to be mentioned 3rd and 4th films.
I have the Alien hardcover book from Amazon too and the Art of Prometheus book.

I love the aussie set that includes alien, predator and avp, it is a great quality book with all the discs housed nicely.
the american one available for 29bucks now is a mini version on the aus one with just aliens movies, also really nice

What do you think of the Muther Mode on the Blu-Rays? personally I don't like it.. I'd much rather have a huge menu with just Special Features listed instead.

To be honest believe it or not i havent used Muther Mode, in fact I havent even watched any of the blu copies of the movies yet.
I have watched my dvd set a number of times including the special features.
But I am waiting until I get my speaker and receiver setup done before watching them on Blu as I want to fully enjoy the experience.
Had an LCD full HD tv for many years now, but still havent dont the speaker setup, so just using 2 good but very old speakers with an amp at the moment...

Speakers will be happening in next couple of months when i ever get time to go and look at them...
Then there will be a lot of blu watching, i have a mass of things waiting, such as LOTR EE, Star Wars, Star Trek among many more, all untouched waiting for the speakers

Has Titanic 100 fever gripped anyone else?

I've been obsessed with the Titanic since I was a kid. Have been since before the 1997 movie. I first saw A Night to Remember and it utterly enraptured me. Parents started buying me Titanic books for stocking stuffers. Then I saw the '97 movie when my parents finally let me (when I was 8), and it was love at first sight.

The obsession kind of went away for a few years, but returned a couple years ago. Now with the 100th anniversary, I'm going bonkers over the amount of DVDs being released. Few weeks back I found the Titanic 100 Years in 3D Blu-ray...and bought it on the spot. Then I found a new History Channel documentary called "Mystery Solved". Bought it without hesitation. In JB tonight I found an absolutely stunning set called "Titanic: 100 Years Below" which has all the definitive documentaries. Bought it immediately.

I know they're cashing in on the anniversary, but I can't help myself. All these shameless docos appeal to me far too much.

I watched quite a few Titanic programs on the History and Nat Geo channels back on the 100th anniversary, but i had a real problem with James Camerons docco he made about how the ship sank, so I stopped watching them.

He brushed off the real experts and pushed his own ideas on how it sank.. some of his ideas didn't seem realistic.. like the force of the water being able to crush the ship once it hit the sea bed, and it picking up speed as it sank.

Agreed. I mean why bother to get the experts in if you're just gonna shout them down and contravene their theories. I guess it was to lend his 'stories' some pretense of credibility.

Anyone know if Scarface and Red is region locked or region free?

I want to get the Reel Heroes and Illustrated Cover Art versions from JB-HiFi.

I have a hard time watching Cameron at the best of times, whether it's his opinion on the Titanic or behind-the-scenes on his movies — I find him so arrogant and abrasive. I saw one Titanic doco, around 90 minutes long, about the dives on the wreck and attempts to determine forensically exactly what made her sink. He had some of the top people in their fields along on the dive ... and, at least in the edit of the doco that was presented, they didn't get to say a single word. Not one. Other than where they got to say hello at the very start, the whole doco was him lecturing them. Talk about a vanity piece.

You should hear him rant on about Global Warming and how humans are destroying the planet? The guy doesn't stop once he gets going. Number of times he's backed out on debates with experts because he ends up looking like a wally.

No, I haven't seen that one, Cougar.

It's a shame, really, because the guy's obviously very smart, and interested and passionate. But even Robert Ballard has said he wishes Cameron would just bugger off, and leave things like the Titanic to people who know what they're talking about.

Cameron makes great movies — most of the time, anyway — so maybe he should just stick to doing that.
