Behind the Candelabra - 6/10

Amusing to say the least! I'm surprised by the heavy promo this film is getting at all the tram stops.

I preferred both Squid and the Whale and Greenberg, but chances are if you enjoyed Baumbach's other films you will enjoy this..

Little mini-review:
Quirky with small laughs, brilliant characters and dialogue and an excellent performance by Gerwig, but all in all not that memorable, but a nice little film.

Watched: In the House (9/10), Only God Forgives (8/10), The Bling Ring (6/10)

The Conjuring

5/5. Seriously.

If all these Paranormal Activity / Shakeycam shit has put you off paranormal horror for a long time (like me), give this one a shot to re-invigorate your love of the genre. I thought this was ****ing brilliant.

Pacific Rim - 3/10

Bored the bejesus out of me. It was just action, action, action, action and more action, and not much plot. A bit like the 2012 Total Recall. I thought it would've benefited from a little humour.

Went to check it out cos' I kept seeing people say it reminded them of Evangelion, and on in certain ways, some ideas and aesthetics did on a surface level. But I swear, one of the tracks sounds similar to the one where Nerv prepares for an angel attack.

But I got a chuckle as I overheard a conversation 2 guys leaving the theatre were having, in which one said "There was one that looked like Jet Alone, the German one."
