I think a lot of people, myself included, thought is would be the next Spring Breakers in terms of a young cast, an interesting, unique plot but I'm sorely underestimating what I thought it could be.

It just doesn't have the crazy, wow factor appeal that would get random people in the theatre like SB did. Plus, I think this has an even more limited audience, demographic wise.

I was a fan of Pretty Wild and am interested to see how faithful to the shows ideas and Emma is to Alexis, but otherwise, I think the story itself is too thin to really be even a mild box office draw outside of Sofia fans and the like.

It's not exactly a "OMG must see story". People who follow tabloids saw what played out there and on E! in the reality show, these aren't characters we are rooting for or even particularly care about enough to want to know their motivations behind the acts or if they redeem themselves from it.

Regardless, I'm still excited to see it as it was one of those movies that since inception that I've been dying to see but I think once again that is because of my love of Pretty Wild and the heavily deluded Neiers family.

It seems that once again I'm in the minority here, but I thought this movie was great. The performances were spot on and the direction was exquisite. Easily one of the best of the year!

I do have to point out how ridiculous I find it that I watch several children 13 and under walking into World War Z and see some the same age get rejected from going into this. The Bling Ring had some "bad words" that children that age are saying anyway and because of that they miss a film that could actually leave an impression on them, but World War Z depicts dark and grisly death in such a summer blockbuster kind of way that you can't help but feel sick and that's the one of the two films the MPAA finds to be more appropriate.

That's America for you. We take pride is murder and death. We love our darn guns so much, we could have a shooting every day and no one bats an eye.

But naughty words and boobs....no way can we have that!!!!!

I hope to see this Sunday, pairing it up with The Purge maybe? I was gonna see those both and WWZ, but the times aren't helping much, so probably see WWZ tomorrow night. Plus, since the Purge is tanking now it's already on limited showings here.

I for one hope its NOTHING like Spring Breakers, cause I found that movie to be kind of stupid.

Might go watch this tomorrow.
Alone or with a friend, I have to see it and the last movie I saw alone was What's Your Number? back in 2011 and I enjoyed it more being myself.

They are both supposed satires of shallow young girls. They are formally much different though. Polar opposites in fact.

Lost in Translation is one of my favorite films, so it pains me to say the very flawed Spring Breakers was much more effective than Bling Ring.

It tells you something about a movie when I spend the entire time hoping the characters get killed in some horrible way. Instead I have to settle for cheering when they finally get caught. ...and the cheering serves a dual purpose because it also signals the film is finally over.

I read a review that the point of Bling Ring is how shallow these socialite wannabes is the reason for the movie???

All I know is that Emma Watson has grown up to be quite gorgeous, while Selena Gomez has the smallest face on a person I have ever seen. Not a small head mind you, but her actual face seems all smooshed together.

So BR has that going for it.

I will be seeing this tomorrow, so I have nothing to actually add about the content...yet. Sorry.
