Cool. Thanks for the pic of the jungle.
I'm surprised they've put so much promotion behind it at the Comic Con San Diego 2013. Here's hoping the 3D lives up to our higher expectations. After Jurassic Park's stronger 3D earlier this year, Predator's 3D team has a lot to live up to.

They are probably talking about the mask, as a 'figurine'. When I posted that, I hadn't seen the picture on Foxconnect's website. Still pretty neat!

I really want to order that Comic-Con head, but I have no interest in owning this movie.

It would look cool near my i, Robot head.

Also I'm really excited for the 3d treatment for Predator.[B]I'm embarrassed to say I've still never seen the movie and I've really wanted to see it[B], but what a great way it would be to see the film for the first time with a well done 3d treatment. It's encouraging and promising to me that Fox is giving fans who preorder at comic con a chance to see the 3d before the official release in December. I'm thinking we're gonna see big improvements over I, Robot
WHAT? Predator is one of the best action movies of the 80's, and one of Arnie's best. Still a very fun movie today. One of those type of movies that hold up well over time. Ur in for a big treat my friend Hope ur right, and they do a good transfer.

No, it's only for those who are at Comic-con and pay for it. From the link a page back:

"Here's the rundown from the press release:

In a first-of-its-kind activation at Comic-Con, fans can enter booth #3528 and have their photo taken with state of the art cameras courtesy of 3D Systems. Their image will then be used to make them the victim as a customized figurine is created using 3D Systems 3D printing technology that features the Predator alien holding the fans’ severed head!

The figurine is only available to fans that purchase the PREDATOR Blu-ray 3D, available exclusively for pre-order at Comic-Con and packaged in a limited edition Predator head for $129.99. Fans can also receive the figurine with the purchase of a “headless” Blu-ray 3D for $49.99.

- See more at: http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/pred....R547F5dg.dpuf "

That's what I'd want but have no chance of getting to Cali in the next few days. From the sounds of that, we non Comic-Con'ers will not even get a figure with a stock head.

My advice would be to pre-order this with FoxConnect seeing that you can cancel this before release date in December without being charged. Better safe than sorry!

Exclusively at SDCC at the moment from what I gather. Joblo posted a press release from FOX:

Additionally fans will get a first look at the all-new 3D transfer of the film before it arrives on Blu-ray 3D later this year as they enter the jungle that is ruled by the ultimate warrior that came from another planet.

Attendees can also participate in the “Hunt the Predator” challenge. Fans who find the Predator, take a photo and upload it to their social networks with the official hashtag “#HUNTthePREDATOR” will be entered to receive a front of the line pass at the Predator 3D booth for an exclusive 3D printed figurine.

The PREDATOR Blu-ray 3D will be shipped to all those that pre-order at Comic-Con when it is officially released in December. The custom figurine will be shipped following the convention.
I'm sure within the next few weeks we'll see a pre order option come up for the general public.

IMO, if anyone expects they are about to see the next Titanic / Jurassic park style conversion here you're setting your self up for major disappointment. The transfer will most likely resemble that of i,Robot but this time around they have a good amount of feedback from everyone regarding i,Robot's quality so I, and fairly safe to say a good portion of this forum, are kind of watching and waiting to see if they took the feedback into consideration.

I,Robot's transfer was clean, but had hardly any depth to it whatsoever. Doesn't seem like it would take much to tweak that system and find a good medium for conversion. I've said until my face turned blue that if their claim that it took a team of 3 people 3 months to complete i,Robot - a team of 6 people in 3 months could double the 3D quality. But then again, I don't know the revenue of that 3D re release compared to the salary of the artists, cost of distribution and promotion, etc. Don't know if the money is there or not.. Must not have done too bad if we're getting prepared for their 2nd catalog conversion release, as well as the film "Jumper" releasing in 3D in the same manner.

EDIT: Gates, that is bad ass!!
