Oh, I forgot about that. I didn't love Jack Reacher, but I thought it was well filmed and a capable action/thriller. We'll see. Really depends on a good script though.

Have we? The day repeating itself isn't a new idea, but to see it within the context of a battle is. Source Code is within the same ballpark since Gyllenhaal was trying to stop a terrorist attack, but I still think this will seem somewhat fresh and unique.

The best parts of the movie are the day repeating, as mistakes are made and a restart is needed. Chemistry between Cruise and Blunt was excellent.

even if you hate Tom Cruise, you may like this movie. Because you would see Tom Cruise get killed over and over, by many different ways

lol, there were quite a few years that I could not stand Tom Cruise. I've grown back into liking him again - starting with Knight and Day a few years back. Dug back into his catalog and found some good ones that I missed. Edge of Tomorrow looks great

This would be markedly worse than Oblivion, which was only shown in 2D.

They usually only do that when it gets terrible reviews. A Haunted House 2 did it last I think.

The first one did it too I believe. But this one is getting pretty good reviews from what I hear (92% RT Rating!)

Was going to post the same thing. I'm not exactly sure who the marketing people think that is going to appeal to. It's strange, actually.

And as others have pointed out, this is getting good reviews. So it's doubly puzzling. They could have used stuff like:

"cleverly crafted and propulsively executed sci-fi thriller " -- Variety

"A playful and frantic science-fiction twister which mimics the best" --Empire Magazine

"The best action movie of the summer ... " -- comingsoon.net

Etc.

I don't get it.
