indeed. plus why they changed the font of the title itself is horrid. I suppose its better than the standard floating head stuff the studios tend to use.

I rented this a few days ago and im really glad I did and don't have to blind buy.
The film was not necessary, it had some things I enjoyed(hallway fight scene, very gory, Elizabeth Olsen nude

) but I thought it was just meh.
The villain in this sucked imo.

Just out of curiosity, anyone NOT SEE the original and NOT like the remake?

It seems like all the negative reviews heavily reference the original.

Many reviewers and people I know who never saw the original hated the remake.

The remake turns it into more of a clichéd action film, hence the bigger focus on the fight sequences. The original is more of a beautiful art film. The cinematography, acting, art design, and subtlety are unmatched in it. Plus, it is more ambiguous, whereas the remake spells everything out for you, though neither film is subtle in regards to the

I've seen the original and like the remake a lot...better than the original, in some respects (especially the ending).

wow, Canadian Oldboy looks wonderful. Now I want to poke my US copy and make fun of the way Peter Griffin does things on Family Guy.
