I do like that it shows how much HMV actually pay, then the retail cost is more than double the price. Working in HMV for a brief period it always fascinated me seeing just how insane the profit margin was.

To be fair to them, you have to factor in employee costs, business rates, rents etc. and they're not cheap. Then you also have discounting of items in the future.

So I don't begrudge them setting what the markets willing to pay and get the profit. How many resellers have creamed OoS OoP releases and gone for hundreds. They've seen demand is there and they can charge, so they are.

Hopefully the artwork isn't a PoS like the Man of Steel version was.

The retailprice includes taxes too, while the price HMV pays for it doesnt. So basically is a £10 margin, and yes a lot of that goes to rent, personel and othter costs. I thinkthe net profit on a steelbook like this is about £7, so 25% of retail

Hopefully no waiting needed. From what I understand the first release will include the extended R rated cut.

Cool news but you might want to delete the image, might get someone (you?) in trouble, maybe?

I'll clear them off when we get a website link anyway. It's only there now to prove to you lot that I'm not talking out of my backside

I'll get this if it doesn't have the big stupid 3D thing printed on the front.

The one thing I liked about DVDs is that because they had to release PAL versions anyway, it encouraged them to make UK specific steelbooks. That meant printing the certificates and extra information directly on the case - none of these ghastly little paper stickered-on things that get torn and ruin the cover with glue.

Sadly Warner Bros. are probably the worst for it but if they are gonna do it, they should use that neat little cardboard holder thing that wraps around the bottom I've often seen on Fox's films.

You mean you want all the text and info printed on a steelbook and not the j-card?

So pleased that HMV are getting back into their exclusives, hopefully with loads more of the big summer blockbuster steelbook releases going to them than Zavvi. I'm getting sick of the 1-2hour panic window of pre ordering with Zavvi, when it comes to popular titles, and then the dread of having to deal with customer services if it goes wrong. Fingers crossed that with BvS it will be avaliable in bigger numbers, like their Jurassic World and Martian steels, right up to release, and all without dubious sales tactics.
