The internet is blowing up with excitement and I'm just thinking meh. The first game was fun, but never really stuck with me. This is something I'll play... I'm just not that excited though.

No mention of a pc release. Only Xbox One and PS4.

I bet MS will be throwing money at them for some sort of tie in with the Scorpio launch.

Very awesome this is finally official. I played Red Dead Redemption a couple of months ago for the first time and totally loved it. Can't wait for this.

Couldn't just say PC gamers?

They should. There's no reason this day and age (besides developers getting pay offs) to not release a PC version day and date with the consoles. The games are developed on PC's in the first place. All they're doing is giving the middle finger to a section of the market.

It is a money thing. GTA V had it too... Microsoft threw a lot of cash at Rockstar to keep GTA V off the PC for over a year. Wouldn't be shocked to see something like that happen again with Red Dead 2.

I could be wrong, but I think Red Dead had the same sort of "extra funding" too to keep it off the PC.

Where did you get that from? It makes ZERO sense to me and I dont buy it. The 360 wasnt competing with PC and it would have made more sense to keep GTA V off of PS3. If anything MS would have paid to make the game Games for Windows Live compatible then outright pay to exclude it from PC

Besides Red Dead Redemption never came to PC so there is legitimate concern from people in that camp. There shouldnt be an assumption that 2 will make its way in a year

Didn't Rockstar bungle the assets for RDR anyways, preventing any possible remastering or ports?

Yeah? I never got passed that very early mission where you had to beat that woman in a horse race hahaha I couldn't get the hang of it. I was at a cousin's place in a different country (6 years ago), but I never went back to it. I'll keep my eyes on this one though.

Developing on PCs and releasing for PC doesn't necessary correlate because they do that for console games too and then they optimize for a set specification whereas PCs are in a million different variations.

Think about the debacle of Arkham Knight on PC as an example why it isn't as easy as just releasing the game on the same platform where it's developed on.

This specifically happened because they handed the PC port to a shitty developer and didn't do it in house (which has happened numerous times in recent memory with PC ports). It's the big 2 throwing money at devs to keep console exclusive games. Simple as that.

And I get what you're saying about configurations across the PC but if it wasn't a lucrative market and such a hassle it wouldn't still be around.

Of course there will be.

Personally with them showing multiple characters I'm really hoping for the main game and online to sort of merge into one entity. This is the kind of game I'd really love to play through the story with buddies.
