That's great news about the cover being modified. I'm not on facebook and don't know how heated it got over there (I know some of us fans can be brutal so I assume it may not have been pretty), but it's refreshing that Scream either agreed or surrendered or just changed their mind about it on their own, and put Billy back into the shadows where he definitely belongs. Great decision, Scream. Mucho thanks! Can't wait for this release.

When asked if they bowed down to criticism, they replied, "Not that black and white. We're major fans of the film ourselves and we saw where some of the criticism had merit so we adjusted."

Thanks for clarification, and I think that was a decent and very professional response on their part.

Ultimately, yes, but before they did, they linked to an article that went on about how people should stop complaining about the covers because art is subjective. It seems like they're flip-flopping a bit. My response to the whole thing is, well, what did you expect? When you make slipcovers and posters a huge selling point, people are going to voice their opinions on the art and you need to listen. But I am glad that there's some discourse going on, which is preferable to just ignoring the customer.

Agreed, I saw that link to that bloated blog post about 'art being subjective' that went on forever and ever. Ya, that was definitely a sickening and condescending reading experience, and Scream should never try to defend their stance by linking to some outside nonsense blog like that. But Scream still did the right thing in the end, thankfully.

Yes. I'm still probably going to flip it though.

That article was the most second-hand embarassing thing I've read in years. It wasn't an entirely outside blog, though. The author gets paid to make extras for Scream.

I'm glad they changed it, but they have to be careful about bowing down too often because people will get demanding and entitled and expect every little thing to be changed.

So happy they modified the art! Thankfully SF listens to the fans.

I think I would actually love that cover if it were just the title, in that typeface, with the wreath and Billy but without the floating heads below him.

I would have loved it if it were just the title, the wreath, and Claude.

Floating heads? I see torsos with heads attached.

I was just using the general common term. They're using the floating heads "approach".

I'm probably going to look like an idiot for asking but... for the original art where did Scream get the killer's face to begin with?

That artwork is the exact opposite of floating heads. I see heads, torsos, arms and hands of everyone depicted. How is that floating heads?

I assume you're being pedantic for the sake of being so, but he's referring to the usual Scream Factory style where practically every character's face from the movie is arranged around a central image, which has been referred to as "floating heads." Sticking half a torso on them doesn't exactly change things, as many of the past ones labelled that are the same deal.

To be pedantic right back, wouldn't the EXACT OPPOSITE of floating heads be pictures of feet on the ground?
