I think if the steelbook had the same art as the standard edition, a lot more people would be excited about the steelbook.

Is there any content difference between the two releases? Unless I'm missing something, that's a large chunk of change for a cardboard box and a book.

Absolutely zero chance the box will market for that price on release date. I see it coming in closer to Amazon's $42 price on the ET box set

No. I've never seen this kind of box set (built around the regular release version with extras) include a slipcover.

I've never seen this movie and the only shot I've ever seen (I think it was one of those "now available on DVD" trailers that played at the beginning of a DVD) was a shot of the ship with the lights and everything. So I've been "spoiled" already and don't really mind because it's thirty five years old! And I'm pretty sure the ship makes sounds that have permeated pop culture to a degree.

Excited to finally see it!
