That scene was always edited weird. William Lustig and company actually explain why on their commentary track. It had something to do with accidentally editing the master or something.

The lenticular is awesome!
Maniac arrived fine from Diabolik, but somehow my local post office still managed to dent Night of the Demon. I don't want to email Diabolik since what else could they have done?! I hate my local post office.

I agree amazon over the last 2 years has refunded me close to 400.00 due to lost packages. every time I go to that mailbox he is on the phone. they get paid to deliver mail not run their mouths on the phone.

I just moved to a new place last year and the way I met most of my neighbors is basically playing secret santa and getting each others packages.. I just got a neighbors package yesterday that I opened up thinking it was mine and it was about $800+ in rare coins that were professionally graded lol.. I gave it back to them but I know a lot of people are going to keep that without thinking twice which has happened to a few of my things already. It's pretty pathetic for sure how consistently it happens not to mention how they just throw packages that have "FRAGILE!" in massive letters with no effs whatsoever. They're going to have to start putting the body cams on them soon

My copy arrived today and I watched it tonight and I agree it looks amazing. I also love the 16mm outtakes in the extras.

I'm pretty sure that's for the non-English languages. If you go to the movie's page on the BU site, as referenced in the note, it only says "Dolby Digital 2.0," not "English Dolby Digital 2.0." The back of the slipcover says "Castellano, Francais, Italiano, Deutsch Dolby Digital 2.0."

Consider me a dumb@$$ and explain why a film is restored to 4K using old negatives gets released on 1080p Bluray.

I'm scratching my head like a chimp trying to figure this out.

4K is four times the pixel resolution, or twice the line resolution (2160p), of 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels).

So why bother restoring a film to 4K if you are only able to output 1080p at the max resolution blu-ray has to offer.

Because a 2K restoration @1080p wouldn't look as good as a 4k restoration @ 1080p?

Partly about "future-proofing", but probably primarily about working with the best elements possible. Working in 4K gives you that much more ability to work with color and detail before scaling it down to a consumer level. Just like music, the quality/resolution the general public listen at is considerably lower than whats going on in the studio.

Oversampling. A blu-ray scanned and mastered in 4K from the negative will look better than one with a neg scanned and mastered in 2K. This is partly due to the bit rate limit of blu-ray as a 2K scan at much higher bit rates would look better than a 4K scan at the usual 30 mbps or so.

Popped in the 4K release last night. WOW! This is a massive upgrade visually from Blue Underground's 30th Anniversary release (2010).

Yes. Check out Eibon Press (I believe it is run by Shawn Lewis, who also runs the excellent horror-tee company Rotten Cotton).

Haven't ordered any myself yet, but there's a hardbound limited edition of Zombie coming out, which I am seriously considering getting.
