Cool, thanks. I have said before, I can’t be too harsh on a guy who has that avatar/profile pic.

They said they wanted to know what "they got right" and "what they didn't" and use it as a learning tool when developing the sequel. So, I would think since they originally planned a two-film shoot, the rights were already secured for at least one sequel?

I have full confidence in Blumhouse. I loved Halloween 2018, and it's just a matter of time before they get the rights for more sequels.

But I too think it's time to move away from Laurie. I love JLC and the Laurie character, but it's time.

I hope for a great sequel with Myers terrorizing random teens again. The only thing I want them to fix this time around is to have the Shape stalk his victims a lot more. We don't need so many brutal kills, 1 or 2 gruesome deaths are fine.

And you don't consider Babadook to be an icon like Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, Jigsaw, Michael etc.? and how about The Creeper, Captain Splauding, Sam from Trick R Treat etc.?

Well it apparently is and is a foreign horror film character icon and one of the new horror icons with the Nun, Annabelle and Babyface, it's something different than the same ones i've already seen and trying to create their own horror icons and they are giving it an effort.

And i enjoyed Babadook for being something completely different outside the mainstream as i support independent and foreign horror genres and would sometimes say "**** the mainstream". One of my favorite films of 2014 and is something different.

Although mainstream horror has surprised me lately with potential new franchises like A Quiet Place as i support it! and other stuff like Overlord, Conjuring 1 and 2, Get Out and a few others.

I'm just tired of the same horror icons (Freddy, Jigsaw, Ghostface, Pinhead, Leatherface etc.) and their dead franchises as they should rest in peace, i just want something new and different. Making new horror icons would actually work because there are no ideas to bring in for most horror icons. New horror icons may get all the hate, but it may take time before the newer ones would actually get praise.

I mean if someone wants something different than the same old icons and their dead franchises, check out something like The Collector and The Collection which i think are 2 great films that are independent films and well made films and they are something different outside the mainstream.

Agreed. I would love for the sequel to have more scenes like the scene at the end where Laurie is searching for Michael in the house. I loved the tension and dread of that scene. One of my favorite in the franchise to be honest. No cheap jump scares to ruin the tension either. Just pure dread of not knowing where Michael is and expecting him to pop out at any second. Give us more of those "hide n' seek" scenes and I'll be happy.

Genuine question. Does a Halloween film NEED to be set October 31st? As far as I am aware (may be wrong) Michael killing his sister on Halloween was pure coincidence? We know he can drive so can we not get a film set at Christmas somewhere other than Haddonfield. Maybe John McClane could be the one to bring him down?

Keep setting every movie at the same time in the same place does nothing to keep the franchise fresh.

So, who cares? I always watch my favorite icons. Freddy and Jason, and Michael, and, let's see, Chucky, and... well, who needs new icons anyway? I don't need them. I always watch the classics. I mean, it doesn't really matter if you have new icons or not... Hey, isn't that Devon Graham?

Did you see a film called Terrifier? ‘Art the clown’ would have made a great modern icon if only he had a better film to work with. Those eyes and the complete lack of any speech (even when stabbed) made for a very creepy villain. Incidentally, it was also set on Halloween night.

Yep, Halloween certainly needs to be set on Halloween.

I did. He's a solid enough villain, but the film could've been better.

Lol, well only if you call the movie Halloween. Call it Myers and you could set it during Easter.

Maybe Michael could compete in a Easter egg hunt in the neighborhood?

Yeah, film wasn’t great. Neither was Hallows Eve for that matter.

Some posters in this thread keep referring to the probable sequel to Halloween (2018) as Halloween II without acknowledging that the retcon with Halloween (2018) for all intents and purposes makes itself Halloween II regardless of it duplicating the singular title of the original film it is a sequel to. Thus, the follow-up to Halloween (2018) realistically would be considered Halloween III.

The next film has to have a subtitle. Halloween II would make no sense, and neither would Halloween III.

They should totally have the movie set in December 25 and simply call it CHRISTMAS..
