Thankfully Netflix seems to have been willing to work with Snyder getting the opportunity to finish Justice League during the post-production of Army of the Dead. That had to stretch the schedule some. They also had to deal with the pickup shooting to replace Chris D'Elia with Tig Notaro last year. Seems like they ended up also taking the extra time to develop (and shoot) the prequel film and develop the animated series tie-in.

Yep. You see a guy's junk in a movie, even if only fleetingly, it's "graphic" nudity, because seeing a dude's schlong is more frightening than seeing a movie's breasts.

Length 2h19m. The prequel-toon, co-showrun back Zack with a lot of the same cast, drops in early 2022. The German one Zack produces might drop late this year. Zack also confirmed aliens in the new interview with Grace for "Beyond The Trailer" on YT. The budget is about 90 mil. Zack was his own DP here, it's shot digitally (his first film done that way) and the same man who greenlit Snyder´s DotD also greenlit this string of projects for Netflix.
This was a teaser btw and Tig made it into the main film and Zack´s cartoon mini-series about the backstory of the outbreak at Area51. So she was a double replacement.

Terrible trailer, very weirdly edited, but it looks fun. I wish Netflix would spend more money on the CG though, at lot of this looks less convincing than World War Z and that was 8 years ago.

Zack stole that chopper shot/ bit at the end from Terminator Genisys though.

This film will have less CG than most will expect. I have no idea what the world record for most particle zombies is but Snyder will try his best. ZS 2020:

"90% of our zombies are completely practical. The zombie war, the action sequences and the fighting, my longtime collaborator Damon Caro and I worked hard to create some insane zombie mayhem. The thing about the movie that I think will be really exciting for people is the tone. That kind of tone where the movie has fun but doesn't make fun. I really wanted to make a no holds barred, zombie genre insanity."

Nice callback btw and WWZ might have cost up to 269 million. That´s why it had to be PG13. No horror, well kind of, film ever cost more.


Netflix also knows what they got with Snyder.

Looks alright, looks like Snyder is just cutting loose and dropping the portentousness, granted I imagine there’s a strong chance the trailer isn’t indicative of the final film.
