Seriously though, I reckon Night of the Demon might be on his top 5 list. Don't Look Now is probably a strong contender too.

It would be a pleasant surprise for me to go out before a long day at work. I'd even take a short one, if I must.

Oh and one of the five has to be Night of the Demon (1957)

No: anything with James Corden in it should be burned

Hmm. I guess if James Bond movies are considered british films then Night Of The Demon ought to be.

I'm guessing that Curse Of Frankenstein and/or Horror of Dracula must also rank.

The Innocents (also US financed)

It's very subjective when it comes to US financing of British films. I've always considered Stanley Kubrick's work from the mid-60s onwards to be British, even though he was an American director working with American money.

As well as The Wicker Man, Don't Look Now and Night of the Demon as mentioned above, I imagine he includes The Innocents, which is very highly regarded (albeit not by me).

Extraordinary films all. The Innocents is stunning in my opinion.

I think The Innocents is one of the most sophisticated and layered horror films ever made. Every one of Jack Clayton's movies I've seen has been remarkable. My Mother's House is a real standout too.

Dead of Night?

What the... ? "Or else— Oh dear, I hope you won't have to wear spectacles. You're much too pretty for that."

It was 1 to 4 weeks a few days ago!

I might give up on Amazon and try the Screenbound... still debating that. Does the Father's Day code run out tomorrow (Sunday) at midnight?

I just had an email from eBay ... because you searched for "blood", a load of fake blood, blood capsules and so on, would they have sent the same email if I searched for plasma TVs?

That’s the same bloody thing I got now. Delivery was meant to be today. Moaned and told them off and got a £15 credit. Not bad in the end
