I like the idea of the show. But it feels overly lit to be a mystery. But I do love exploring pre-Episode I times. Hopefully they bring something interesting to it.

I don't know maybe I am just burnt out on Star Wars? it looks like all these shows have the same over serious tone.

Doesn’t look particularly good or bad, but it was very underwhelming for a first look at an unexplored part of the timeline. Nothing about it stands out as unique.

And I do not like how there’s all these random Jedi wielding yellow lightsabers. I wanted that preserved for when Rey Skywalker returns and we finally get to see hers in action.

Carrie-Ann Moss feels like a natural as a Jedi though.

100%, that was my one main reaction to the trailer.

I think I might be in the same place. My friend resubbed to D+ a couple of days ago thinking the new Doctor Who was this month not next, so as not to waste the month, I decided to catch up on Bad Batch last night. A couple of episodes into it, I found myself fooling around with my laptop instead, with Star Wars turned into background noise.

If you went back in time to 1985 Fez and told 15 year old me that new Star Wars content would be just static and noise, they would have laughed you out of the room.

Same thing here. It just looked so 'meh' that I have trouble generating any excitement. And this isn't a "Star Wars has woman! Woman bad!" thing, just that I'm bored with it all. I'll watch the next season of Andor, but otherwise? Yeah, I might skip the rest of it (or get around to it 'someday')

Just watched the trailer, and was decidedly unimpressed. Most of it looked like cheap, fan made shite. The fight scenes look silly too - why can’t they go back to simple, gripping samurai-like duels rather than whatever ridiculous looking Wuxia stuff that is.

It seems the further time passes, the quality of Star Wars is becoming more and more diluted. Perhaps for me it’s just reached saturation point, where we just have a conveyor belt of content that I’ve just found mostly average, and certainly nowhere near the standards set by the original trilogy.

I will still watch it however, and hope it’s better than the brief glimpse shown in that trailer.

Can't disagree with this. Star Wars used to be such an event; such a sense of transportation to another place, unlike anything else we were seeing in movies or TV. Now it's just kinda "more product".

I wonder if the Amandla Stenberg Dark Side character will end up being someone important in Star Wars lore

Not bothered with much SW lately but will check this out.

I hope it does a better job with the atmosphere compared to other shows. I'm tired of English accents everywhere and these supposedly bustling cities that just look like sound stages with a few boxes and market stalls. Way too clean and un-lived in.

Cool to see LJJ as the lead, so rooting for him!

The Star Wars show trailers all look like high quality fan films to me. I think a great deal of that has to do with the absence of John Williams. His music attached to a Star Wars trailer would send chills down my spine.

As far as the rest of the trailer, the show does not look promising to me. Also, I tend to find Amandla Stenberg annoying in most things I have seen her in. Hope I am wrong and it turns out good. Willing to give it a chance.
