It hadn't been posted in the Halloween: The Complete Collection thread in the North America sub-forum as of late last night UK time, just in the John Carpenter on Blu-ray thread. I know that a board game is in the works about the original Halloween II (out sometime this year), but a table-top board game about the original Halloween will be released this year by Trick or Treat Studios, called Halloween: A Hidden Movement Game.

Unsure yet if this will be made widely available, like with the Rear Window board game for example (have seen copies of Rear Window in my local HMV).

The post in the John Carpenter on Blu-ray thread was made by fellow member/poster Dr. Herbert West.

Have checked the Sky TV listings for next Tuesday evening, and sadly Sky Arts are going back to the beginning again with Alfred Hitchcock Presents, meaning another long wait before we find out if they have the sixth season in it's entirety, as well as the seventh season (then we have the three seasons of the show in it's hour-long format (as The Alfred Hitchcock Hour).

Regarding Wild West Chronicles, how many times now has GREAT! movies action shown the first season? I've read on the web recently that a fourth season of the show has been ordered. Could the UK get the second season please?

When reading the new issue of TV & Satellite Week earlier, I noticed that channel 5USA are showing two Season 1 episodes of La Brea this coming Saturday night (13th May), episodes six and seven (at 9 pm - 11 pm).

United Kingdom The Halloween films on TCM Movies

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers is getting another screening on TCM Movies next Monday night (22nd May) at 11.15 pm - 1.15 am.

One of my least favourite films (and sequels) in the series. It has it's moments
[Show spoiler](Danielle Harris's performance as Jamie Lloyd (who doesn't speak for the majority of the film, because of the events at the end of Halloween 4) and the always reliable Donald Pleasance as an even more madder and erratic Dr. Loomis),
but compared to the previous film in the series, this one isn't very good at all (at least four things it has going against it
[Show spoiler](the Michael Myers mask (it's not even tucked in either), Rachel being killed off (she was one of the best characters in Halloween 4 (the way she was written out in Halloween 5, not good at all, considering how good and important a character she was in the previous film), the Myers house looking like a mansion, and the annoying new character Tina).

It was one of the longest films in the series, until the two Rob Zombie films and the more recent Blumhouse trilogy.

United Kingdom Bond films on ITV's TV channels

To my complete surprise (and slight shock, but in a good way), yesterday afternoon's (Sunday) ITV1 screening of Bond film Goldfinger did NOT have it's end credits squashed up and/or spoken over (Dr. No's end credits are very short, so they were just spoken over, but From Russia with Love's end credits were both squashed up (to the usual silly extent with a lot of empty space around the reduced end credits screen (the information about the next programme aside) and spoken over. It could well be that this happened before when I've watched an ITV recording of Goldfinger.

Also, ITV1's editing when the film went to the ad breaks was a bit abrupt, usually cutting a snippet off of the film.

Next Sunday night, Thunderball. Then I can re-watch the films on Blu-ray, starting with You Only Live Twice (don't have the first four Bond films on Blu-ray).

Like on the more recent screenings I've seen of Thunderball on ITV1, yesterday afternoon's screening was shown in I assume the correct aspect ratio all the way through the film (and not just how ITV usually show the older Bond films on their channels (the picture filling the whole widescreen TV screen, with the exception of the title sequence and end credits, where black bars appear (with Thunderball, black bars appeared on the left and right-hand sides during the title sequence).

I enjoyed the film more on this viewing. Didn't have someone or something distract me during the pre-credits sequence (especially during the
[Show spoiler]fight scene in it),
like what happened at the cinema screening last year. I'm sure with the shortened end credits (apparently because On Her Majesty's Secret Service was intended to be the next film, but
[Show spoiler]due to there being problems finding suitable wintry locations for Blofeld's Piz Gloria headquarters,
it was delayed and You Only Live Twice was instead chosen as the next Bond film) there are at least two different pieces of instrumental music used (one of the Bond theme music, and another piece of music).

United Kingdom The Saint (the colour episodes) on ITV4

The colour episodes of The Saint (starring Sir Roger Moore) have been repeated before on ITV4, but the reason I'm posting about the latest repeat run on the channel of the fifth series, is because starting this coming Sunday evening on Talking Pictures TV (28th May) at 6 pm - 7 pm is the fourth series (the last in black and white/monochrome). Nine episodes in the fourth series. Have set to record, ITV4's latest repeat run of the fifth series (*), as once TPTV have finished showing it, I can go straight into the next series.

(*) - Starting from next Wednesday morning (31st May) at 11.20 am - 12.30 pm (or from next Thursday morning (1st June) at 8.10 am - 9.15 am).

Default Alfred Hitchcock Presents Season 6 - Monday 12 June

"Good evening."
I checked my "crystal ball" this evening, and when the mists cleared I saw Season 6 continuing from episodes 2 and 3 on Monday 12 June at 6pm, with episodes 4 and 5 the following day at 6pm (the crystal ball sometimes sets the recorder a day ahead of the TV planner).

Hopefully OceanBlue stays calm when reading this news, and remains calm during this word from our sponsors

You've got that prediction right Cutback, and also very in keeping with what Mr. Hitchcock says before the sponsors' ads are shown. Calm down, calm down..

I haven't been checking the Sky Arts listings on Sky as much lately, because they went back to the very beginning of AHP again. Sounds like what BBC One had been doing with Pointless recently, showing repeats for a few weeks, before breaking off from them and starting showing new editions.

Now Universal (based on apparently Universal not letting boutique labels license AHP from them), can you get your (excuse my language) arses into gear and announce a complete series Blu-ray release of Alfred Hitchcock Presents please (ideally with as recent HD masters as possible).

Chuffed about this news and an additional, much-needed boost.

Antiques Roadshow S45 E15 from Clissold Park in Stoke Newington . The son who brought in his late father's collection of Blade Runner memorabilia and props from the film. Very cool and with a pretty amazing valuation!

iPlayer for the footage.

Have checked the Sky TV listings for next Monday, and yes, the second and third episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents: Season 6 are airing in the 6 pm - 7 pm timeslot on Sky Arts (strangely, they're not showing the season premiere "Mrs. Bixby and the Colonel's Coat", unless it has been shown on Sky Arts in the past and is availble on Sky's On Demand service and has been mislabelled):

Monday 12th June:

6 pm - 6.30 pm: Season 6, Episode 2 "The Doubtful Doctor"
6.30 pm - 7 pm: Season 6, Episode 3 "A Very Moral Theft".

Sometime next Monday, they should make available the full sixth season on On Demand (thirty-eight episodes in total).

Continuing on from the above, quoted post:

Tuesday 13th June:

6 pm - 6.30 pm: Season 6, Episode 4 "The Conquest for Aaron Gold"
6.30 pm - 7 pm: Season 6, Episode 5 "The Five Forty-Eight"

Wednesday 14th June:

6 pm - 6.30 pm: Season 6, Episode 7 "Outlaw in Town"
6.30 pm - 7 pm: Season 6, Episode 8 "Oh, Youth & Beauty!"

Thursday 15th June:

6 pm - 6.30 pm: Season 6, Episode 9 "The Money"
6.30 pm - 7 pm: Season 6, Episode 11 "The Man with Two Faces"

Friday 16th June:

6 pm - 6.30 pm: Season 6, Episode 14 "The Changing Heart"
6.30 pm - 7 pm: Season 6, Episode 15 "Summer Shade".

*****

A quick summary of what Sky Arts are showing in Season 6 so far:

The season premiere "Mrs. Bixby and the Colonel's Coat" and episode 10 "Sybilia" are being skipped (not sure why. I've gone through the first five seasons on Sky's On Demand service and there is no sign of "Mrs. Bixby and the Colonel's Coat"). Episode 6 "Pen Pal", episode 12 "The Baby Blue Expression" and episode 13 "The Man Who Found the Money" were made available on Sky's On Demand service (I think) around the same time that the whole of Season 5 was made available on the same service (also from Season 6 and made available at the same time was the penultimate episode of the sixth season, episode 37 "Make My Death Bed").

United Kingdom Upcoming TV clash on Sunday 18 June - ITV Van der Valk S3 and TPTV Van der Valk S2

I knew it would happen eventually..

Season 3 of the current version of Van der Valk begins on ITV at 8pm on Sunday 18th, with 3 episodes in the run again, as before, presumably to follow on consecutive Sundays.

Meanwhile, over on Talking Pictures at 9pm on the same night, the second season of the original series continues...

Yes, the original and reboot series would eventually end up airing at the same time. I can remember last year when ITV were doing their usual season of the Bond films while they were being shown again in UK and Ireland cinemas (and cheekily it was the same film being shown in cinemas on the same week).

I noticed this past weekend that it appears the second series at least of the Van der Valk reboot has been repeated on Saturday nights (the season finale is being shown again next Saturday (17th June), the day before the third series starts on ITV1.

United Kingdom Alfred Hitchcock Presents on Sky's On Demand service

Checked Sky's On Demand service late last night (Sunday), and found that they've got the majority of the sixth season of Alfred Hitchcock Presents on there, as well as four random episodes from the seventh season (the last season of the show in the half-hour format). Interestingly, despite some episodes being inexplicably missing from Sky Arts's run and on the On Demand service, one of the four random Season 7 episodes is the episode which apparently caused some controversy at the time the seventh season originally aired in the States, the season finale "The Sorcerer's Apprentice".

Update: There are now five random Season 7 episodes available on Sky's On Demand service, with the season premiere "The Hatbox" having been added.

Update 2: A quick summary of what Sky Arts are showing in Season 6 so far (and what is available on Sky's On Demand service):

The season premiere "Mrs. Bixby and the Colonel's Coat", along with episode 10 "Sybilia" and episode 19 "The Landlady" are being skipped (not sure why. I've gone through the first five seasons on Sky's On Demand service and there is no sign of these episodes).
