My wife and I watched the extended cut last night, and we both thought it was a vast improvement on the theatrical cut (which we saw in the cinema once upon release). Everything just flowed together much better, and there were several new comedic moments that bumped up the fun factor quite a lot.
Apart from the Alien Director's Cut which is not Scott's preferred version of the movie
And maybe those "Director's Cuts" of the first 3 Lethal Weapon movies that were branded "Director's Cuts" on DVD. I know I've read people insisting Donner has disavowed them being "Director's Cuts" even though he doesn't exactly disown them when they are brought up in the "Lethal Weapon 4" commentary track. Then again, he also had to be reminded of their existence, if I recall, which I guess doesn't support him being intimately involved in their creation.
Got this in from GRUV along with a Shazam 4K steel. The steel was absolutely thrashed and this had a loose theatrical cut disc that got scratched into complete unreadability. Never ordering from GRUV again.
UPDATE: Turns out I just wiped my Fall Guy 4K a bit TOO hard the first time so there were smudges. I went over again with a microfiber cloth and now it's reading, but I still gotta do a disc scan to see if it's working, cause there are DEFINITELY still scratches.
UPDATE ON THE UPDATE: Running the disc scan and it's stalling and throwing errors. Definitely just a bad disc.
You can say the same thing about Blade Runner Director's Cut.
More infamous were the Lethal Weapon 1 / 2 / 3 "director's cuts' that didn't involve any input from Richard Donner. - That is why the Blu-ray's are only the theatrical cuts of the films.
Movie was so bad I turned it off after 40 minutes , not for me .

I thought it was pretty good, but I was hoping it would have been better. I liked it well enough to purchase.

Older posts here sorry. But for those of you who didn't like this movie what did you think of Bullet Train? If it's anything like that then I'll skip this because we turned that movie off after about 20-25mins we hated it so much. Now we like quirky, fun movies, but that one just did nothing for us. I also didn't like Deadpool 2 anywhere near as much as the first one, but am looking forward to seeing the third since it seems better than 2. I'm just wondering if his movies just aren't my thing.
I liked Bullet Train, Hobbs & Shaw and Deadpool 2, but hated Atomic Blonde and this, so we're 3 for 2 with Leitch's solo outings.
I didn’t realize he was involved in all those (director for them all?) - I have enjoyed all of them (haven’t seen Atomic Blonde yet even though I own it - ha)!
The Fall Guy - 99
Bullet Train - 80
Deadpool 2 - 76
John Wick - 70 (He was a codirector but appears to have had his credit removed for whatever reason)
Atomic Blonde - 69
Hobbs & Shaw - 40

I really hated Bullet Train but enjoyed this, i think it's a huge step up.
Deadpool 2 is fine. I watched the first movie about 30 times, but Deadpool 2 only twice.
Atomic Blonde is a disaster, and I hated it. Awful editing, too.
Hobbs and Shaw... eh. I know it wasn't supposed to win any awards, but it's a lazily written movie that doesn't even attempt to be clever or interesting, and is just as disposable and forgettable as the last napkin I used for lunch.
However:
I enjoyed The Fall Guy quite a bit. Dumb, cute, entertainment.

Oh this helps!
Again Hated Bullet Train, everyone was SOOO excited about how great it was and thankfully I was just burned by another blind buy (Talk to Me, another one people love and I just didn't like it at all) and we somehow managed to see it before buying and turned it right off. No idea why people like it so much!? haha
Deadpool I've seen a ton, love that movie and #3 is making me want to see that one too since it seems better than 2 (I really hope). But #2 I've seen it once maybe twice, but I was doing other stuff while it was on in the background since it doesn't really hold my attention.
Atomic Blonde we watched once and I can't remember a single thing about it, so it didn't leave any impression on me.
Never saw Hobbs and Shaw.
So I guess I'll wait for a price drop and sale (maybe for black friday?) and get it on BD really cheap, that way if we don't like it I'll pass it on to my family since none of them are 4k yet.

Yeah it seems we're in the minority opinion here, but I agree. It's rare that we'll turn a movie off, I think we've done it with only 2-3 movies in the last 30 years! haha We'll try to suffer through most things to see if it gets better, but this one we just couldn't. Now I do have movies I didn't like on first viewing, then liked or even loved every viewing since, but this one we couldn't give more of a chance it was just so unwatchable, to us. And there are movies I don't like the plot/characters/actors that much but the visuals and/or audio/soundtrack is so stunning we'll watch just for that.
Just FYI... The US release comes with burnt-in English subs, which the international releases will surely replace with player-generated ones:

Don't know how many there are, but I just happened to spot this one and thought I'd share.
I was recently told that this may no longer be the case. From the thread for Monkey Man:

I dunno why this is a surprise, when they did it for Fast 8 back 2017 and more recently, No Time to Die and Inglourious Basterds.

Based on what Sky Captain told me here, Universal has been stylizing soft English translation subtitles for multiple titles. I also know they did it for the UK/AU/DE Blu-ray of House of Gucci:

Unlike other Universal-distributed discs that contain DTS-HD MA 7.1 audio, this UK disc, which is presumably also distributed in Australia and Germany, contains the film's Dolby Atmos audio track. The film runs approximately 24 seconds longer here than on the US disc, but this could be explained by the opening Universal logo, which leads into the MGM logo, assuming the US BD opens with the MGM logo.
The English subtitles are American English SDH. The smaller English subtitle file is for a few translations, all but one of which occur in one scene near the end of the film. Interestingly, they are stylized, presumably to match the theatrical release:

On the other hand, the German translation subtitles are standard PGS subtitles:

Titles and locations are burned in and in English, again presumably matching the theatrical release.
[Show spoiler]The Dolby Digital track is described audio, with an English (as in UK) female voice.
The extras match the US release and come with American English SDH and German subtitles.
This is the identical playlist number to the one shown in the US scan. There is also an identical playlist with the more common "00800.MPLS" name below:
