There were also short clips from The Rapture and Monkey Trouble in her filmography. Since neither will be coming to Blu-ray anytime soon(if ever), it made sense to remove them.

I checked the store stock online for HMV and not too many places have them. I didn't want to keep looking so i ordered it from amazon.ca for 52.95 (which they surprisingly had it in-stock) |

I was able to pick it up from Starstruck Entertainment in Scarborough Town Center (Toronto) on December 23, 2008. I had to ask the guy to get it from the back because it was not on the shelf. BB and FS didn't even have the set listed on their website.
Watched all three movies over the last couple of days (had not seen them in a while) - they all look fantastic! Yes, one and two have more grain than the third film, but I honestly believe that the filmmakers scrubbed the third film themselves in order for the print to have a glossy look. Thoughts? Kage99. |

The whole set is like 36 bucks on Amazon. You might as well get it. The third was the best too, not sure why you wouldnt want it.

1. Put a fully visible 'Blu-Ray' logo at the top center of the front of each case, like on regular, individual Blu-Ray cases. I currently have both the Matrix and Austin Powers sets, and it annoys me that the BD logo is basically the same color as the case, itself, and hard to see. It just doesn't look right. 2. (This being specific to the Austin Power set), The titles of the movies going down the 'spines' of each of the slim cases need to be written in a better, more Austin-Powers-like font. They look too generic and not at all pleasing to the eye. At the very least with the Matrix set, the titles of the movies look normal on the sides. I generally prefer to display my box sets on the shelf with the open end facing out so each of the individual movies can be easily seen. The general look of the slim cases already annoys me for this particular display purpose, but I can tolerate it for the Matrix set. However, the sides of the Austin Powers cases look so bad to me that I currently have it displayed on my shelf the opposite way, with the side/spine of the box-set box facing out. Why must WB go out of their way to make their releases suck as much as possible? I mean, look at the recent Harry Potter box set that come in the thin cases as a prime example. Wouldn't it have been easier to just take the existing, normal-sized Blu-Ray cases, and put them into a cardboard box? Instead, they actually go out of their way to make thin cases for them. I've actually been holding off on rebuying any of the Harry Potter movies on Blu-Ray in hopes of an eventually ultimate Blu-Ray box set once all of the movies come out, but if they are going to end up being in crappy thin cases like these, then I will likely end up buying them individually at that point. Between the annoying way they handle their packaging, tendency to not have lossless audio, and their tendency to DNR the hell out of their releases, they are really becoming my least favorite studio for Blu-Ray movie releases. It's too bad New Line went under and their releases are now being handled by WB. It seemed like at least some of these things were better on the few releases that New Line put out on their own. This Austin Powers set would likely be better as a result. |

Geez.
The case whining is getting pretty stale now. Would you prefer flimsy cardboard slipcovers like on the DVD Matrix set, with the discs piled on each other inside? Some of us like watching/hearing the films rather than complaining about the packaging, which has absolutely no bearing on the films themselves. |

While it is far from being the most important aspect of owning a movie, it's still annoying enough to warrant a complaint. If they would just leave well enough alone and stick with standard packaging, there wouldn't be an issue. Plus, if you read my previous post, I'm also pointing out WB's tendency to DNR the hell out of their movies, and their tendency to only have a lossy audio option on most of their releases. So, there is just an overall quality issue with WB (who is now also in charge of New Line releases) that is transcending almost every aspect of many of their Blu-Ray releases. |
