But the fact that athletes do not get a 2nd chance makes it far worse imo

And its not like Bale is a great actor, so the fact his ego seems way out of proportion just makes it worse lol.

You haters and judgement hounds need to ask yourself who leaked the audio, and why -- but even beyond that, you need to go rehearse a scene with hundereds of thousands of dollars on the line while someone continually walks in on you while you're shooting.

Come on, man, its Hollywood. Don't take anything for granted.
Your statement is even more absurd, unfounded and pathetic than the original.

An associate producer for the forthcoming Terminator Salvation movie has defended Christian Bale's alleged on-set rant, insisting the actor was a "consummate professional" during filming. A man said to be actor Bale can be heard angrily screaming and using profanity at the movie's director of photography, Shane Hurlbut, for distracting him during shooting by walking into his field of vision.

In the four-minute tirade, Bale reportedly shouts: "I'm trying to do a f**king scene here and I'm going, 'Why the f**k is Shane walking in there? What's he doing there?' Do you understand my mind is not in the scene if you're doing that?"

The man later promises to "kick his f**king ass" before threatening to quit the film unless Hurlbut was fired.

But Bruce Franklin, an assistant director and associate producer on the fourth Terminator film, insists the star was only upset for a short period of time before his "moment" passed.

Franklin tells E! Online, "If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove... It was the most emotional scene in the movie. And for him to get stopped in the middle of it - he is very intensely involved in his character. He didn't walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed."

And Franklin is adamant the rant has only been released to slander Bale, who he worked with on the 2000 movie Shaft: "This was my second movie with Christian, and it has always been a good experience with him. He is so dedicated to the craft. I think someone is begging to make some noise (controversy) about this, but I don't think it's fair. The art of acting is not paint by numbers, it's an art form."

The audio clip, allegedly recorded in July 2008, was obtained by TMZ.com, which claims the film's executives sent the tape to their insurance company in case Bale didn't finish filming the movie.

The 35-year-old actor was arrested in July in London - just days after the recording was said to be taken - over accusations he attacked his mother and sister at the city's Dorchester Hotel before the British premiere of The Dark Knight.

LOL....The codependant diva coddeling has begun. Sad.

So.....? Maybe on the 3rd or 4th time Bale should have spoken to the director about the problem.

People say what they don't mean all the time.

But most people don't launch into 4 minute rants laden with the word f**k and threaten to kick people's asses for a minor infraction.

Yeah Yeah he has a anger problem just like me. We're all human! I'm pretty sure he apologized soon after. Lets drop the subject or this thread.

He must think that he's to big of a star to treat people like human beings any more. He went over the deep end this time. He just doesn't seem like a nice person

I think he needs to take some more lithium or have a diet coke. Some caffeine might help him get out of this slump.

I know that personaly I hate having my work wasted or my time wasted in the office by the action of someone else who did not concentrate or just was careless.

Now look at it from this fashion. You and the crew have been re-doing this scene over and over, there had some practice run before shooting and then they are doing the shoot and lines are forgotten, lights are not correct, equipment is not working....the list can be long. Now suddendly everyone is "in the zone", they are nailling this scene and then someone walk's in a destroy the scene. How do you now feel? All your hard work ruined because of a bad call from someone. What is your reaction? Sure actors are "prima donna", all of their life they are being told by everyone how great and wonderful they are.

In this case I don't attribute this reaction to being a prima donna. I say it's more a case of someone who does have some trouble keeping his anger in check along with being tired and frustrated and suddendly lashing out at the easiest target.
Not entirely the same situation.

If you're in the office, you can get mad over the computer messing up and losing all your work, but in the end, that's kinda your fault.

On set, it's a completely different monster. There's a TON of downtime on set to chill out with, especially if you're a big actor like Bale is. Guy probably has his own trailer with all the add-ons inside.

Think of it this way, don't you think at the office or at a sporting event that people would react this way far less if on your break or between innings they would be able to wander a few hundred feet to their fully furnished trailer and play a little Xbox to calm themselves down?

Exactly. Yes, they are all only human. But there needs to be a price paid. That's what civilized people do... well, used to do. I'm so sick of apologists for this kind of behavior by celebrities, sports figures and politicians. We're becoming a shell of a society. Whether they like it or not, as leaders, they have a greater responsibility to temper their conduct.

Default Franklin's the Producer, not the DP in question.

Batman goes Bale-istic with profane tirade on crew

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Christian Bale can be heard in newly surfaced audio delivering a long, profanity-laced verbal thrashing to a cinematographer and anyone who tried to calm him down on the set of the upcoming Terminator Salvation. - The three-minute clip was posted Monday on the website TMZ.com.

In it, the actor who portrayed Batman in The Dark Knight rails against cinematographer Shane Hurlbut for apparently walking behind co-star Bryce Dallas Howard and through Bale's line of sight, considered a film-set foul.

"If you do it one more time I ain't walking on this set if you're still hired!" Bale howls in one of the few publishable moments from the clip.

Later, he screams: "Do you want me to go and trash your lights? Do you want me to go and trash them? ... Then why are you trashing my scene?"

The incident took place last July on the set at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, days before Bale would face assault allegations from his mother and sister in London. Charges were never filed because his family did not want to press the matter and because prosecutors said there was a lack of sufficient evidence.

Bale's is the only voice that is audible on the tape, though he's clearly responding to Hurlbut, the film's director McG, and others trying to persuade him to relax.

"Let's not take a (expletive) minute! Let's go again!" he yells at one point.

A phone message left early Tuesday with a publicist for the 35-year-old actor wasn't immediately returned.

Therein lies the problem chap.

Let me lay down the scene for you...

You go about your job, and one day, you drop a stapler on the floor. Your boss comes up to you, and absolutely loses it. Not only do they get coddled for their performance in ripping you a new one, they get defended in the press.

You {on the other hand} if you lose it against anyone else, in a 4 minute f-bomb laden tirade, you'd get your walking papers delivered on a silver platter.

ok maybe you did, but someone (BLU MAN?) wrote that part above, "Bruce Franklin (the guy getting yelled at), had this to say..." - which was incorrect.
