Lol, hey hey! I am a 3G owner as well.

I am going to sit back and see how this all unfolds. If the new phone has much better improvements and is worth the upgrade, I will buy. If it's only marginal - I won't. I hate not having a certain feature is my main thing. Hardware is another story. I can deal with not having the fastest again, as long as it's not a feature I can't have with the 3.0 update.

I'm pretty happy with my 3G as of right now, but I swear, Apple puts stuff out just for the sake of making the stuff they released the year before obsolete. I hate loving Apple.

well..considering what they're going for on ebay. it's probably worth selling your 3g and getting the updated one either way. even if its only mariginal upgrades..i doubt you shell out much from your pocket to get it after you sell your 3g

Wow, they are still pricey! I will wait and see. Not sure how much it will be worth when the "new" version comes out though. Lol. Doesn't matter. Still have a ways to go before we know anything.

The Sony Ericsson PlayStation phone may for the time being remain a speculative possibility, but the chances just got a whole load better with the news that Sony Ericsson is to drop both its Walkman and Cybershot brands in favour of a unified entertainment offering.


The Swedish manufacturer had previously segregated its handsets into a number of camps, the leading two of which were the ‘C’ and ‘K’ Cybershot photography-related devices and its ‘W’ Walkman-branded MP3 mobiles.

Whilst other categories such as its lifestyle ‘T’ series and high-tech ‘X’ range have focused on various segments, gaming has yet to win its own branding, with most leading games handsets (such as the W705) being amalgamated under the Walkman banner.

However, Marketing reports that the continually converging handset market has forced the company to unify its various technologies under a single branding. Head of global marketing business management Andre Jacquet has used the term ‘Entertainment Unlimited’. However, this sounds very much like a marketing term and not a product brand.

Sony Ericsson president Hideki Komiyama said earlier this month that a PlayStation phone “could still happen”. Is this latest move taking us a step closer to that reality?

Anyone here have the iPhone 3G and NOT use or want the included headphones? My cat chewed the first pair and Apple was nice enough to replace them free of charge. The replaced set lasted 1 week before the cat found them again. Pissed me off.

I am hoping to save some money by not having to go through Apple, but I will if need be. Just checking here first. Let me know please

We've been bumping into the new BlackBerry Storm 2 for quite a while now on the so-called "information superhighway," but we've finally had a chance to escalate those encounters and spend a few sweet moments with a live unit in the flesh. First off, let's confirm the huge news: RIM's abandoned the original Storm's SurePress click-screen and gone with a traditional fixed capacitive display for the sequel. It's over, guys. Unfortunately, the Verizon-branded dual-mode GSM / CDMA unit that we played with has a bug preventing us from getting past the license screen, so we couldn't dive deep into the OS, but we can tell you what we do know: the Storm 2's sleeker style and more heft combined with the newly-stable screen collaborate to make everything feel a wee bit higher end than the original. That's because for the longest time they didn't have to. BB's have always been geared towards business users. I don't blame them either. As far as push email and productivity are concerned nothing beats a BB.

Hey guys - need some input.

I already have an iPhone 3G so I don't need another smart phone. However I also have Verizon because it costs me nothing. Problem is, my VX8700 died a couple of weeks ago. I dissected it and it still did not fix it. Problem is, all the phones currently available from Verizon - look like crap. I have had 4 phones form them that die after 6 months to a year. It's a joke and I am not paying full price for them.

My main issue is - I don't need a smart phone. I need a phone for just calling and that's it. Txting/pic sending done rarely. I also don't want a piece of junk either and everything is pointing to that. Last but not least - I am not paying $100 dollars for a dumb phone. Not going to happen.

Anyone have any recommendations? My thoughts are telling me to just get a Razr v3m and be done with it. Or possible a v9m. Both of which are still pricey. What do you all suggest? I don't want a black berry, samsung or any other phone that has a "touch" screen. I don't need it.

Suggestions please?

Why dont you just get a replacement??? Thats what I did when my phone went to sh!t.

Interesting. There have been whispers of an OLED screen for the new jesus phone for a while now. Hopefully it will be true as it will help with battery. I would also like to see HD streaming out from my phone too. However I think that is too early.

We've been on pins and needles waiting for more info about the Snapdragon-powered Sony Ericsson Rachael ever since we spotted those early images over the weekend, and while the latest pics are still just potentially fan-made renders, it's the accompanying UI video that we're freaking out over today. Just like HTC's layered the Sense UI over Android on the Hero, the Rachael looks to have a polished custom Sony Ericsson interface over its Android build, and we're definitely digging the vibe -- especially the unified messaging interface that displays Facebook, Twitter, email, SMS, and calls all from one screen. It's pretty slick stuff -- let's just hope it's real, and shipping soon. There's also a couple more renders of the funky rear-display Kiki featurephone, but until we figure how SE intends for humans to actually use it, we're focused on Rachael. Renders and video after the break.

A tipster just dropped us a lead on some new shots (and a video) of the mouth watering Sony Ericsson Rachael and the plant watering Sony Ericsson Kiki — which means were dropping them on you. We last heard about these two handsets late last week and since then we have to be honest… The Rachael has been on our minds non stop. Android, Snapdragon, 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus, 7.2Mbps HSDPA and 3D graphics capabilities? Yeah we need it. As for the Kiki, mmm, it’s unique. Hit the jump for the new renderings along with a video supposedly depicting SE’s own UI sitting atop the Android-powered Rachael. We’re not going to lie — it’s pretty sexy.
