it really is amazing how some films could have been soooo much better with such simple changes. i think if i was director, that would drive me crazy looking back and going "wow. if i would have changed these three simple things, this would be a lot better".

but then again Bay is kind of crazy so he probably loves RotF as it is, which would make sense since that's what he turned in to the studio so who knows

I would be completely over stuff like that. I couldn't do it...so I do give at least some credit to the guys who even try.

He's actually been voicing his disappointment with the film and the production these last two or three months. Kind of like Shia Labeouf did with RotF and Indy 4.

Of course, that could just be a way of getting people to say, "Hmm..the director things the movie wasn't too good but says the new one is awesome...I've gotta see this!!!!!111!!!432095!!!"

Has anyone gotta chance to watch Hesher?

I watched it last night at a nearby theater playing it, and I thought if a metal head nihilist written his version of Great Expectations, well, that's pretty damn close to doing so. I felt empty, pretty depressing, and even pretty mean spirited, but I got quite a kick out of it; it's like a breath of fresh air for a hollywood made film. You may have seen a film like Hesher, just you haven't seen a movie like Hesher in a f-ing long time.

The shoot was going to be in Japan...which was known all along...and the reason he put out was that he realized he would be away from his family for a year.

I think it was a bogus reason and there is some other reason he really left.

Thanks. I'm kinda relieved that he bailed. He didnt seem like a good fit with a comic book flick. He's awesome, I love comic book flicks, but it didnt seem like a good marriage.

yeah. we were talking about the film a bit when it ended, but then we kind of stopped and went on to other doing other stuff. don't know if a fight was gonna break out, but it's always best to avoid that any way possible, so even if i would have disagreed with her point of view, i would have agreed just for the sake of not ruining the day

previously viewed. finally watched my blu of this wonderful film last night.

highly recommended

a film that feels real and is very heart warming and tells a tale of a relationship in a different type of way and dealing with a standard issue (pregnancy) in a different way (where to live with baby - near family? friends? stay put?).

Rudolph is great. Krasinski is wonderful and it's nice to see him outside of the role of Jim from The Office. also great to see him with a bad @ss beard

after i saw it the first time i said it was on my top 50 favorite films, and it likely will still be there whenever a list gets started at the very least it will be in the top 100 for sure. a great, quiet, funny, touching little gem of a film. really surprises me that Mendes directed this when most of his work is darkly humorous and / or super serious (American Beauty, Revolutionary Road) but Away We Go is a fresh, fun look at the start of a family with a young(er) couple.

great writing (written by a real life couple who went through this, so of course it's gonna work and be well written), solid performances and a wonderful score make Away We Go a winner. no doubt
