Does the current Universal BD contain the U.S. theatrical cut or the slightly longer international cut?

The international cut. The US theatrical is still not available anywhere on Blu that I know of. Here's to wishful thinking!

Ah I see cheers.

A seamless branching option would be cool.

I saw this listing on Amazon for a 4-movie DVD pack that's coming out in May and it has Conan the Barbarian:

http://www.amazon.com/Movie-Marathon-Collection-Conqueror-Barbarian/dp/B01CQOVH9K/ref=sr_1_cc_9?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1460794062&sr=1-9-catcorr&keywords=conan+the+destroyer

It lists Conan the Barbarian as 2 hours and 9 minutes and it's in anamorphic widescreen. I'm pretty sure this is the theatrical cut because the extended version is 2 hours and 11 minutes. It's not Blu-ray, but it's in anamorphic widescreen, so that would be a substantial improvement over the old non-anamorphic DVD and we'd get to watch the movie in its original theatrical version. What do you guys think? Is this definitely the theatrical version in this 4-movie pack?

Running times listed on covers are sometimes off by a minute or two, so I'm not sure I'd take that as gospel. But if it's 129 minutes, it's probably the international theatrical version. The US theatrical is 126, and the extended international is 131.

I love Conan, its a fantasy movie that truly has a romantic classic feel to it. They don't make them like this anymore and gotta love Basil's score. I hope these are updated blu rays.

Does anyone know if the repackage of both Conans include a UV/Digital? It doesn't appear to include but thought I'd ask. Thanks in advance

Most of Universal's releases lately have *not* included digital codes. I suspect this one won't be different.

Big fan of this movie, highly displeased with the audio issues on Universal's disc. Which releases, if any, include the original mono track? I also know there are also issues with a night filter not being applied to one scene and that some releases don't include the extra scene the DVD reinstated. Which edition is best, overall? I was going to pick up the UK, but I have no idea if the mono is a downmix, plus there are horsefalls cut from what I've heard.

I don't think they will have fixed the audio on the double feature, but you never know.

This is the ONLY ONE with the mono and the fixes, but unfortunately you can't order it outside of France!

Not anymore as it's OOP. I ordered mine from Amazon France over a year ago.

Jeez, not gonna be able to afford to grab that one anytime soon. Is there any other release that has the mono without the horsefall cuts? The night filter doesn't bother me too much.

I said you can't order it outside of France.
if you live in France you can order it from those sellers.

edit: Oh, i see what you meant.
yes, of course you could order it when it wasn't OOP.
I'm banging my head for not buying it when it was very cheap but I didn't know it was limited.

Well, I'm not sure about that but it has the horsefall cuts, and I understood you don't want those!

hmmm.. maybe i was wrong after all?
I see here:
http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparison....php?fid=18450

Quote:
The Australian release, the French Conan - L'integrale de la Saga Steelbook release, and the Italian re-issue release have the uncut release with the original mono track and the corrected audio and video.
But I don't know if it's confirmed.
Everyone here always say that the French steelbook is the only uncut with the original mono.

By the way, I don't see it in the back cover of the Australian release:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Conan...Blu-ray/24760/

And I don't know what is the Italian re-issue disc.
is it this?
https://www.amazon.it/Conan-Barbaro-Max-Von-Sydow/dp/B0051CTSU0/

How do you tell the re-issue from the original release?
edit: oh, i found it:
Quote:
The reissue and the original releases have no difference in packaging and has the same UPC and same cover. The only way to tell the difference is to check the disc in playback.
Great. So it's a gambling game with amazon.it?

it surely is a mess with all these releases.
You don't know what is what.

edit:
So, if i got it right, the best affordable conan releases right now are:
Conan the barbarian - Australian bluray contains all corrections and is uncut (french steelbook OOP and expensive, and you don't know what you'll get if you order the italian bluray - original without mono or reissue with mono)

Conan the Destroyer - UK Bluray (contains original audio and is uncut?*)

Am I right?

* here it shows the duration of the UK bluray as 101.01'' and the other blurays are 101.16'' so it seems 15'' are missing, but it still says "no cuts"

I would be interested to know which is now the best edition available...
I see that there is another boxset on amazon.fr (not steelbox):
Conan le barbare + Conan le destructeur
https://www.amazon.fr/Conan-Barbare-...le+destructeur
Is it not the same edition as the steelbox one, except for the packaging?

So if I understand correctly, the first US Conan the Barbarian blu ray release

Does not have the original mono track
Has audio/video errors
Is a cut/censored release compared to the Australian one?

What about the US Conan the Destroyer?
