No, faction badges and commendations are NOT the same thing. Commendations are consumables that give you rep for your faction, badges just say who you are aligned with, and can only be changed once per week. You cannot carry more than 1.

So I got the Jolly Holiday exotic quest.

I couldn't help myself and looked at the quest steps. If you want it to be a surprise, then mind the spoiler.

[Show spoiler]Here is a link to the steps and potential help in completing it. Gonna be a slog lol, but the result is getting a solar shotty called The Chaperone, which fires slugs, with perks boosting agility and handling.

Of major note is, you don't have to get all your kills with The Last Word, seems that you just have to have it equipped. Secondaries and Heavies seem to add to your tally.

That is more or less what I did. I hadn't even made it to the Dreadnought yet and was level 40 and had an artifact acquired.


I turned in 10 completed bounties from this weekend and completed maybe 3 missions with my Titan one of which was where I acquired my hammer. I hit 40 shortly after and I was prompted to returned to the tower. When I turned in the acquire level 40 quest I was offered 1 of 3 artifacts.

For PS4 users, what was the actual file size for the TK DLC yesterday? I'm on a bandwidth limit, thus why I'm asking.

I read online that 99% of it was from the 2.0 update last week.

I only had a small update last night, the 17gb file for 2.0 was last week.

It was like another 600mb in the PS4 downloads, then when that finished and I booted up the game it installed 10mb of something

Bingo. That was it. You have to turn in the quests for hitting the specific levels. 5, 10, 20, 30 and then 40. Then you get the reward and it unlocks. It might involve you going to orbit and back to the tower a few times because the quests don't seem to pop up for the next level requirement/step when turning your current one in.

Do that Benny and see if that gets it.

i've never played destiny but i just bought the ps4 destiny bundle. can i just start playing The Taken King or do i need to start from the beginning and do the dlc in order?

First....congratulations. You've introduced a new (legal) drug into your life. It will suck you dry.

You most likely have to play from the beginning of the original story. I'm just guessing though. Bungie has introduced quests built into the game that were never available before. You grab these quests in the tower and knock them out while playing the original storyline. You'll probably be able to level up quicker than us "day 1" players. There's a lot of good people here that I'm sure would be willing to help you out if you had any questions or guidance. You'll definitely want some headphones so you can team up with people and play in a fireteam. Add me - Dodger_Blue311

You should have been offered something called "The Spark of Light" while at the tower. That will allow you to bump one character to level 25 making the story a little easier and allowing you to play TTK.

I would suggest you start from the beginning and work your way through the story. It shouldn't take you long. Especially as a level 25.
