Man, TWF really aren't having much luck at the moment. Didn't they have hassle a few months ago obtaining rights for certain Japanese releases?

Shame, their work is fantastic and they are one of my favourite UK boutique labels.

Yeah, an't remember the details but last year their slate got delayed and some things cancelled, so was a much quieter year for them than the one before. Looked like this year was getting back to speed and now this. Really hope they get something sorted soon, must be a ridiculous stress to lose such a key service when you've already got money invested.

They have to get things straight again. TWF is the only company giving those crazy Japanese movies I love a chance on Blu-ray. I hope their financial situation is good enough to keep them alive during such a bad period.

Is that Alan Clarke box set sold out yet? Been about 18 months since you claimed it was on the verge.

Why don't you be quiet?

It's no secret that TWF have been struggling for a long time now. They've happened more downs than they have ups in the last two years, and they even indicated in the past that they 'were not sure if it was worth it to continue doing what we're doing' or something along those lines. They've been scraping by, living on the edge and now they've been fed to the dogs. The end is near, unfortunately.

Do note that I am in no way happy about this as I consider them an original label.

Seems a new sheriff is in town. What a pleasant character. BTW, only 89 A.C sets available at Amazon. Couldn't be bothered to check Zavvi, Base etc.

He started it not me, my friend. And I am surprised that there are still Alan Clarke boxsets available. I would have thought that it would have sold out long ago. I sold my spare copy for a decent price anyhow.

Not to start anything, but you have a way of rubbing people the wrong way with your claims that in the end are just guesses, not facts. Nobody wants to repeat something like that endless, useless discussion we had in that old Alan Clarke Set-thread. And showing up here again, beating your chest, going "See, I told you! I knew and you didn't" really doesn't help. So you'll have to forgive if you get the occasional reminder that you, too, are not all-knowing. That's all I have to say regarding this matter.

There was a period when Adam was unwell and thinks looked a little shaky.

Then the hassle with acquisitions skyrocketing, and now this. The last thing they need.

I love TWF. I've always loved Asian cinema and TWF have broadened my appreciation no end.

Their releases are always top notch. Their catalogue is full of incredible titles. I honestly can't praise them enough. I'd hate to see them go

Indeed, my friend. It's disappointing and even heartbreaking, but once they go perhaps another label can take over their niche of excellent Japanese cult classics?

They've introduced and made me a fan of a lot of key Asian filmmakers that escape my youth too, so I know how you feel.

Because nobody cares that you might have been right at some point when you thought the label might not continue. The guy that runs it is a forum member, he posts in this thread, and I'm sure right now he doesn't need to come in here and see someone saying I told you so. TWF continues to be the only label I pre-order every release from - it's truly a little label that's worth supporting because nobody would be releasing half this stuff if he wasn't, hell, they've even gone out and produced some of these films themselves. They deserve nothing but our support, not some self-aggrandising nonsense that helps nobody and is still not factually accurate.
And the reason I chose to respond to this by pointing out you're not exactly Nostradamus is that's literally the only thing I know you for on this forum, making a big song and dance about how you had insider knowledge from industry friends that turned out to be complete nonsense.

The only time it is justified is when people have argued against someone’s views with mocking gifs and nasty, patronising posts. If that was the case then that person is perfectly entitled to come here and post his delight that he was right all along. Otherwise it’s just patting yourself on the back imo.

For the record,I’m not suggesting for a second that’s what happened here, just speaking from experience of the forum.

If any purchases help TWF's predicament, there are some titles in HMV's 5 for £30 (3 for £20) deal:

https://store.hmv.com/search-results...hmode=allwords

although Himizu, Love Exposure, Pluto and Lesson of Evil are out of stock atm.

I do recommend The Woodsman and the Rain, The Land of Hope, Pluto and Confessions.

That's exactly what happened, Steedeel.

Anyway, I am not going to respond to what both the very aggressive Cinematt and Eramus Craven said because it will threaten to disrupt this thread and I want to be the bigger man and will allow them to have the final disparaging remarks.

Lets continue talking about how we can help get TWF out of this mess that they are in, friends. That's all I care about

On a personal note, I have enjoyed a great many TW films. The most recent being ‘Fires On The Plain’. It made a cracking triple play with Dunkirk and Hacksaw Ridge (very different angle but jut as good)

I am more a lurker than s poster on here but I can only echo what people are saying about this fine label. I have around 20 films from these guys and couldn’t be happier to have those films in my collection. I am actually watching a TW Blu-ray tonight (Train To Busan)
