This is the first of (hopefully) more Heisei, Millennium and Shin Godzilla covers using the respective film's original Japanese posters (in most cases, the apocalyptic work of Noriyoshi Ohrai) with Sony's release template for "The Godzilla Too Collection." Most of these films were released in double feature packs (which I abhor) and so I'm working on creating covers for each individual film from Godzilla 1985 through last year's Shin Godzilla.

This was traced from the Blu-Ray boxset, made into a path so I could create a bigger logo. Its 96 inches wide at 300 ppi, in black on a transparent background. Enjoy!

Is anyone planning on doing Hook? They keep butching Stuzans work. I just wish they could slap on the original art untouched and move on.

I pre-ordered this title, but don't care for the front cover image at all.

Spent a couple hours this morning converting the original DVD cover art I had over to a Blu-ray cover.

Original DVD Cover Art:

DVD to Blu-ray Conversion:

Turned out pretty good I think. Unfortunately I no longer have the full size image to share. I had resized my Photoshop file to generate smaller versions of the front and back portions for use with my cataloging software and hadn't saved a copy of the full size image yet. After resizing the file I started tweaking a couple things and foolishly saved the file forgetting I had sized down the image. It was too late to revert the file back to the original image size by the time I realized it. Doh!

In any event, I do plan to recreate the full size image. I have no particular use for it, but figure some might be interested. I should have time to knock it out on Monday or Tuesday. I'll just use the above preview image as a template. Once the full size image is available I'll chime back in posting a download link for anyone that would like a copy.

Looks good. Maybe you can get rid of the signatures on the front. It would look better without them

I always love seeing these custom covers with the original theatrical posters of vhs box art. But the perfectionist/ocd in me has a tough time knowing where to start with them. I used to print custom cd covers back in the day and was never satisfied enough to keep any of them.

Not sure there's any better way to do this, but here it goes: I've spent the last few weeks making Godzilla covers for each film in the series since 1984 through 2016. I used the Sony template for The Toho Godzilla Collection for each film (even the Kraken, Mirimax and Funimation films) to keep the covers thematically consistent.
This is easily the biggest project I've undertaken and I hope y'all enjoy them as much as I did making them. Sorry for the massive post.
