Yes its the Steel as it has extra bonus content which is only best buy steelbook exclusive. They did the same with Jaws digibook and the word digibook was not mentioned on the site.

Does anyone think this will be around $22.99 or maybe even cheaper on release day? I just spent $27 for The Amazing Spider-Man steel, this better not be that price..if so I may have to kick some series.....

If so I hope they'll reimburse the difference from how much the pre-order was.

Wasn't that $27.99 for ASM steel for the 3D version? Correct me if I'm wrong, but TDKR will not be in 3D, so I can imagine the regular combo will be $19.99, with a steel being same, or like you mentioned, $22.99.

The steel I ordered was 32. I think they may adjust the price once it ships if it changes. I need to read their pre-order faq sheet again but I'm pretty sure it said that.

All right, let's get this over with. How are the 35mm elements on the transfer? You know it's the next question that's going to get asked.

My AMS steelbook came badly damage in the mail. I took it to BB. I first grabbed a new one off the shelf, then took both to CS. They did exchange it without any problems. However, YMMV.

All fine too.

Made some IMAX shots in PNG quality. (large!)

Yeah, hopefully they won't give me any trouble should I need to do that. I ordered eternal sunshine from best buy and I was expecting it to be damaged from how it was packaged, but it turned out to be ok, however steels seem like they could be damaged much easier during shipping than regular blu rays. I ordered the batman begins and tdk steels from amazon and they came in a box with bubble wrap. I wish best buy would do that.

Thanks for the shots! How did you get the Blu so early? Was it released earlier in Europe or ...? Not that big of a deal, but why use Image Barn? Photobucket doesn't make you wait and watch an ad before every picture. What's the advantage, is there a quality difference?

You have to order 3 Blu-rays at once to get a box from Best Buy. Ordering two appears to get you one of those "shrink-wrap/molded" cardboard mailers. NEVER order just one or they ship in a plastic garbage bag.

I don't have photobucket, Imagebam let's me do multiple uploads. ;

Don't know if an Ultimate Edition will change anything. But there is plenty of room left of improving. I think the 4K release will do it.

So, if a copy of a copy looks that good, we should be in for a treat. Thanks again for the preview, can't wait! And I agree, folks are hoping for too much if they think WB will remaster the first two for the so-called "Ultimate" Edition - that would only weaken sales for their 4K release.

If those shots are indeed from the BD then it looks like the strange IMAX issues that the non IMAX scene on TDK had are also on this release. Black crush, lack of details ( DNR? ) and EE.

Even I, not being one of those DNR, CBLK, EE, M.O.U.S.E. techs, can see this point!
