I killed about 2-3 Vermin and got the League Oath Gesture and the League Staff that shows all the high co-op scores from the new NPC Valtr. After I had killed a couple more and when I went back to the forbidden woods to talk to Valtr again a hunter was waiting for me. Killed him and got Madaras Whistle. Then where Valtr was standing was just his helmet to pick up.

Crap, neither of my characters are in the night after the Cathedral and I don't have time to play them up until the semester is over.

I guess I'll have to tackle the Old Hunters around Christmas, boo.

I dunno if my character is ready either. I'm on my 3rd or 4th Game Plus but might have not unlocked that area & time of night yet.

Such a dumb @ss method to play DLC you had to pay for.

I can't even remember how many bosses you have to kill to make it night. Over the weekend I killed Cleric Beast, Father Gass Ass, Vicar and Blood Starved Beast. On NG++++

Actually I kind of like it, fits with these games being a pain in the butt. It's actually quite easy though. Kill Vicar, go to that alter and there it says you can change it to night apparently.

•Purchase and download The Old Hunters DLC from PSN.
•Kill the boss of the Cathedral Ward. Examine the altar in the back room and change the in-game time to night.
•Go to the Hunter’s Dream and get the Eye of the Blood-drunk Hunter from a messenger.
•Next, go to the Oeden Chapel and leave via the left-hand exit. You will enter the square from here.
•Now go to the right-hand end of the square to trigger an event. This event will now take you to a new area: the Hunter’s Nightmare.
•Lighting the lamp in the area will let you travel to and from this area via the Awakening Headstone in the Hunter’s Dream.

I can't wait for tomorrow! Already did everything with that new NPC in the Forbidden Woods, just want to clear out Hypogean Gaol and the Witches area before the dlc.

So...is there any reason not to crush the Vermin after collecting it? I crushed the 1st one to join the League, but now I've got about 10 sitting in my inventory.

Crush at least 5 if you want the guy's helmet and that Whistle ability that calls up a giant snake. You get the whistle from a hunter who attacks you at the lamp to the Forbidden Forest. Did you already talk to the NPC to get the Gesture and List to see the leaderboards? If not crush about 3(2 more in your case) then talk to him, after that go back to hunters dream and crush a couple more and his helmet should be where he was standing, and the hunter will be there to attack you. After you get all of that I'm not sure if there's anything more to do other than moving up on the leaderboards.

OK, thx. I got the Gesture and the List, as well as the Whistle (the hunter NPC was waiting right by the Lamp when I re-entered the area), so I guess I'll just crush the rest and get the helmet too.

I've been talking to the NPC in the hut just to see if his dialogue changes or if perhaps I can give him my uncrushed Vermin for additional rewards, but no such luck.

I did the same as well. After crushing 5 vermin he won't be there anymore but his helmet will be. Not sure if he'll pop up again in the dlc but I'm glad I got the Whistle and his helmet. Two less things to get when the dlc hits.

Remember when you fight the 3 Shadows of Yarnham boss in the Forbidden Woods? When they get low on health they start doing more extreme attacks, the Whistle is basically that attack where the giant snake thing comes up from the ground. I haven't used it in battle yet but if an enemy or person in PVP is rushing you it's a nice surprise. It comes up directly underneath you so roll away as soon as you use it because it does hurt a little.

Plan on upgrading the HDD again.. So will be busy with that science project. Once I know my fallout saves are good & this game, Ill give it a go.

Anyone been playing the dlc yet? I know some of you must be on the east coast so you had to wait until midnight or after. So far I've done my usual thing searching every nook and cranny and have gotten 5 new weapons so far including the mini gun and a few new costume sets. A really cool thing is there are quite a few Blood Stone Chunks to get in the Hunter's Nightmare.

I must say that there are these new Executioner bad guys. They're twice as big as the typical guy and have tentacles coming out of their faces similar to Cthulu from H.P. Lovecraft. These guys don't mess around. I am on NG++++ of course but I'm level 333 and these guys can pretty much 2 shot me.

So far I love the new dlc and can't wait to play some more after work. Met a new NPC as well but I'm going to wait for other people to figure out if he's important or not or if I can kill him to possibly get an item or two.

i was long asleep at midnight and am currently at work .. then when i get home i have some more work to do .. but hopefully by about 7 or 8 tonight ill be able ot try it out .. a review i read said that there was an enemy in the new DLC that was tougher than any of the bosses even ..

I wonder which enemy that is. The new Executioners are disgusting unless you sneak up behind them.

Does anyone remember the rules when it comes to summoning someone for help or helping others? By that I mean, is it playthrough based(NG+, NG++, etc.) or more level based? I have the hardest time trying to do either. Personally I think the system just sucks.

WOW is that it? I finished the DLC in one sitting? Kinda feel let down by the whole thing to be honest. The fishing hamlet is just stupid enemies.
I'm at a loss for words. I'd understand if this was like DS where it's one of 3 DLCs but that's it? The game is done.

If that's true, it looks like I'll be finishing it tonight. I've seen a few reviewers online saying how hard it is too but last night I was doing pretty good. The difficulty seems a tad similar to some of the later levels in the normal game.

you can miss a lot of optional areas/bosses in the main game, so maybe that's the case? how many bosses did you fight? the dlc has 5 or 6, I think
