For anyone who's curious about this going forward, I checked with customer service and it turns out the listing on the back was an error. So, for the record, FCE standard editions DO NOT include booklets. Sadly...

These guys used to be my favorite up and coming boutique label until Cinématographe reared it's head. Still love them though and hope they continue to get good films that haven't had a light shone upon them. Since Cinématographe more or less confirmed they won't be doing "Fear City" anytime soon or at all, that film should be Fun City's white whale. It needs a definitive North American release.

Cinématographe looks great you are right, watched Little Darlings this week. My entrance to this labels reminds me of my one with FCE, it was with Bilitis. Two wonderful movies.

Like you, FCE is kind of my favourite label, whatever they released, so many movies i ddnt knew of but always great experiences discovering them.

Anyone else looking forward to the 3 Film French 80s Crime set?

The trailer got me really interested (especially the movie with the dude with the moustache and brass knuckles) but have yet to pre-order as I would like to see some positive reviews before dropping the cash.

Very much so, I posted about it earlier in the thread so I won't gush about it again, but I pre-ordered it from Orbit DVD as soon as the link went live.

I also mentioned Tchao Pantin in that post, and Radiance is releasing that in the US. Also highly recommended if you need your dose of the seedy and nocturnal side of Paris.

I'll share two things related to Rue Barbare (the movie you're referencing). There was a tenacious rumor that it featured Jean-Claude Van Damme in his first ever role as a background character, but apparently that's not true as he showed up too late for the shoot.

Bernard Lavilliers recorded the original soundtrack for the movie (including the music you hear in the FCE cut trailer), and this is one of his biggest hits (not from that OST), it's still a solid track even now:

A real shame that Tony Garnett only directed two films (the other being Prostitute which I hope the BFI upgrade to Blu Ray in the not too distance future).

This film is so much more than a rape-revenge drama because aside from those issues it also weaves American gun culture into it's narrative most effectively.

First rate release from Fun City and another feather in their cap of quality releases.
My copy is en route - very much looking forward to revisiting it, with my only previous watch being the Network DVD a decade or so ago.

Also, in case you don't know, the BFI yesterday announced it's releasing The Music Lovers on blu-ray so you can scratch that off your wishlist shortly.

Decided to buy the Handgun BD as I knew I would not be able to wait for a hopeful 4k release.

The image quality on this is stunning! This turned out better than I had hoped. Like the colors and depth. This is a very good restoration to my eyes. Also glad they gave us 2.0 lossless audio than only to include some kind of 5.1 or something, like some movies these days.

Definitely worth the money. Even if they come out with a 4k, I most likely won't even waste my time.

I hope UV stocks the French films for us Canadians. For whatever reason Fatal Femmes never got stocked when the rest of FCE titles are available. Still no pre-order for this latest set, which I am eager to pick up.

I always get my FCE from fce website, and i tey to order more than one at a time to save on the shippings. I've found out it was cheaper this way (for canadA) than any other resseller

Yiu can give it a try

The second slipcover seen above that I'm credited with (the site exclusive) is actually a re-working of the French VHS art, with a colorized photo of the actress on the back.
